'xl sysrq' command doesn't work with modern Linux guests with the following
message in guest's log:
xen:manage: sysrq_handler: Error -13 writing sysrq in control/sysrq
xenstore trace confirms:
IN 0x24bd9a0 20180904 04:36:32 WRITE (control/sysrq )
OUT 0x24bd9a0 20180904 04:36:32 ERROR (EACCES )
The problem seems to be in the fact that we don't pre-create control/sysrq
xenstore node and libxl_send_sysrq() doing libxl__xs_printf() creates it as
read-only. As we want to allow guests to clean 'control/sysrq' after the
requested action is performed, we need to make this node writable.

XEN_DOMCTL_max_vcpus is a mandatory hypercall, but nothing actually prevents a
toolstack from unpausing a domain with no vcpus.
Originally, d->vcpus[] was an embedded array in struct domain, but c/s
fb442e217 "x86_64: allow more vCPU-s per guest" in Xen 4.0 altered it to being
dynamically allocated. A side effect of this is that d->vcpu[] is NULL until
XEN_DOMCTL_max_vcpus has completed, but a lot of hypercalls blindly
dereference it.
Even today, the behaviour of XEN_DOMCTL_max_vcpus is a mandatory singleton
call which can't change the number of vcpus once a value has been chosen.
In preparation to remote the hypercall, extend xen_domctl_createdomain with
the a max_vcpus field and arrange for all callers to pass the appropriate
value. There is no change in construction behaviour yet, but later patches
will rearrange the hypervisor internals.
For the python stubs, extend the domain_create keyword list to take a
max_vcpus parameter, in lieu of deleting the pyxc_domain_max_vcpus function.

This allows to parse a string that is not NUL-terminated. With that
option disabled, YAJL v2 would look ahead on completion to find out if
there is more to parse.
YAJL v1 doesn't have this behavior.
Any function that allocates a yajl_handle via this function either parse
a NUL-terminated string, or do provide proper length. So change the
default and allow garbage (like a different JSON document) after the end
of the data to parse.
This is important for the QMP client, as there could be more than one
message to parse, and YAJL would consider the next message to be garbage
and throw an error.

In future patches, the structure will be extended with further information,
and this is far cleaner than adding extra parameters.
The python stubs are the only user which passes NULL for the existing config
option (which is actually the arch substructure). Therefore, the #ifdefary
moves to compensate.
For libxl, pass the full config object down into
libxl__arch_domain_{prepare,save}_config(), as there are in practice arch
specific settings in the common part of the structure (flags s3_integrity and

(rather than having to foreign-map, which requires P2M modification for

This patch makes use of the new API to seed the guest grant table unless
the underlying infrastructure (i.e. privcmd) doesn't support it, in which
case the old scheme is used.
NOTE: The call to xc_dom_gnttab_hvm_seed() in hvm_build_set_params() was
actually unnecessary, as the grant table has already been seeded
by a prior call to xc_dom_gnttab_init() made by libxl__build_dom().

In qmp_next(), the inner loop should only try to parse messages from
QMP, if there is more than one.
The handling of the receive buffer ('incomplete'), should be done at the
same scope level as read(). It doesn't need to be handle more that once
after a read.
Before this patch, when on message what handled, the inner loop would
restart by adding the 'buffer' into 'incomplete' (after reallocation).
Since 'rd' was not reset, the buffer would be strcat a second time.
After that, the stream from the QMP server would have syntax error, and
the parsor would throw errors.
This is unlikely to happen as the receive buffer is very large. And
receiving two messages in a row is unlikely. In the current case, this
could be an event and a response to a command.
