Use also HOSTCFLAGS for biossums while touching the code.

Spotted by inspecting build logfile.

Ian Jackson fff4aa914d DEPS handling: Use DEPS_INCLUDE everywhere
DEPS_INCLUDE is currently the same as DEPS, so no functional change.

This patch is the result of this perl rune:

  git-grep -l 'include.*DEPS' | xargs perl -i -pe 'next unless m/^-?include/; s/\bDEPS\b/DEPS_INCLUDE/'

I have verified that I haven't missed anything, with this rune:

  git-grep '\bDEPS\b'

Ian Jackson 300929f6e4 DEPS handling: Use DEPS_RM everywhere
DEPS_RM is currently the same as DEPS, so no functional change.

This patch is the result of two perl runes:

  git-grep -l 'rm.*DEPS' | xargs perl -i~ -pe 'next unless m/^\t+rm\b/; s/\bDEPS\b/DEPS_RM/;'

  git-grep -l 'RM.*DEPS' | xargs perl -i~ -pe 'next unless m/^\t+\$\(RM\)/; s/\bDEPS\b/DEPS_RM/;'

And editing tools/xenstat/libxenstat/Makefile by hand.

I verified that I didn't miss anything with this rune:

  git-grep '\bDEPS\b' | grep -v include |less

Wei Liu f9c9b12775 tools: fix "make distclean"
The original rule to target "distclean" in tools/Rules.mk was in effect
"make clean". It should be "make distclean".

However not all Makefiles in subdirectories have distclean target
defined. So this patch also adds a bunch of distclean targets to various
Makefiles. They only depend on clean target and don't have any actions
in most cases.

With the patch applied, following command outputs 0 results:

find tools -name 'Makefile*' -exec grep -L 'distclean' {} \+ \
     | grep -v ocaml | grep -v libfsimage

Ocaml and libfsimage are known to have distclean defined in a dedicated
rules file.

Keir Fraser 547cb1849c build: Make XEN_ROOT an absolute path.
Otherwise make can search the path relative to certain standard paths
such as /usr/include (e.g., the line '-include $(XEN_ROOT)/.config' in
Config.mk suffers from this).

Keir Fraser 9f8501582f Use -MMD -MF in tools/* rather than -Wp,-M...
If you use -MMD -MF then the correct .o filename is written to the
.*.d file as the compiler driver arranges everything. This was done
in 19010:275abe1c5d24 for the hypervisor.

In this patch we do the same elsewhere in the xen-unstable tree,
particularly tools/. Specifically:
 * Change tools/Rules.mk to add -MMD -MF ... to CFLAGS and set DEPS.
 * Remove -Wp,-MD... from every other Makefile
 * Remove setting of DEPS from every other Makefile
 * Ensure that every Makefile says -include $(DEPS)
 * Ensure that every Makefile's clean target removes $(DEPS)

Some Makefiles were already halfway there, but often for a different
variable name eg PROG_DEP. The variable name is now standardised in
Rules.mk as DEPS.

I have done a test build with this change, on Debian etch.

kaf24@localhost.localdomain 2d52e184e5 [HVM] Add TCG BIOS extensions to the high memory area along with
some often-used libc utility functions. The TCG extensions are
described here:

https://www.trustedcomputinggroup.org/specs/PCClient/TCG_PCClientImplementationforBIOS_1-20_1-00.pdf

I have tried to keep the patching with rombios.c to a minimum, but
some amount of code needs to be inserted at various locations.

The code is currently deactivated, but can be activated by setting
BX_TCGBIOS to '1'.

kaf24@localhost.localdomain dd59dfdfb1 This patch adds a 32bit gateway to the Bochs BIOS. The 32 bit code is
compiled with gcc and linked into the hvmloader as a byte-array.
Hvmloader allocates memory (rounded up to next 64kb) from the e820
table
below 4GB, copies and relocates the 32bit code in the allocated area
and
copies a jumptable (located in a section '.biosjumptable') pointing to
the 'exported' functions into the Bochs BIOS's memory area to link the
two code sections. The memory area has been reserved and can be
identified with the signature '___JMPT'.

In the Bochs BIOS only stub functions are provided. These load the
index
of a particular function in the jump table, switch to protected mode
and
call the function in the high memory area. The stack is prepared such
that functions compiled by gcc can just pick the parameters from the
stack as usual - this means that the 16bit real-mode return address is
taken off the stack. The stub functions should have the same signature
as those in 32bit space. For ABI compatibility reasons parameters
inside
the Bochs BIOS stubs should all be 32bit wide.

This patch includes a test function that calls three gcc-compiled
functions in the high memory area and displays their success status.
Simple tests are done doing multiplication and addition of 32-bit
numbers and reading and modification of a static variable. These
functions test the interface and the relocation code. The test code is
removed in patch part 3.

kaf24@firebug.cl.cam.ac.uk f5ea9f8ba8 [HVM][Firmware] Make the creation of MP tables more dynamic
Currently the ROMBIOS includes static MP tables for only four
configurations: 1-way, 2-way, 4-way, and 8-way.

This patch makes the creation of MP tables more dynamic by creating them
from within HVMLOADER based upon the VCPU number provided by the HVM
information table.

Note: Some of the information included used to create the MP tables is
still hard coded and based upon values used in the original ROMBIOS MP
tables. Data such as the CPU family/model/stepping information should
probably be made to match the information provided to the guest when
executing a CPUID.

kaf24@firebug.cl.cam.ac.uk fa50dd1a8e [HVMLOADER] Revert to uniprocessor MPS table in rombios.
Advertising more CPUs than the guest is allocated hangs boot
of Windows XP (selects wrong HAL). The correct fix here is
to dynamically generate the MPS table (at least the CPU
entries) from hvmloader binary.

The following allows you to run unmodified guest operating systems
under Xen on VMX (VT) enabled processors. The tree lives under
<ROOT>/tools/dfw. Instead of booting a guest kernel, boot vmxloader and
specify the disk image in qemurc.
