Mixed throughout libxc are uint32_t, int, and domid_t for domid parameters.
With a signed type, and an explicitly 16-bit type, it is exceedingly difficult
to construct an INVALID_DOMID constant which works with all of them. (The
main problem being that domid_t gets unconditionally zero extended when
promoted to int for arithmatic.)
Libxl uses uint32_t consistently everywhere, so alter libxc to match.

libxenevtchn will provide a stable API and ABI for accessing the
evtchn device.
The functions are moved into the xenevtchn namespace to make a clean
break from libxc and avoid ambiguity regarding which interfaces are
stable.
All in-tree users are updated to use the new names.
Upon request (via #define XC_WANT_COMPAT_EVTCHN_API) libxenctrl will
provide a compat API for the old names. This is used by qemu-xen for
the time being. qemu-xen-traditional is updated in lockstep.
This leaves a few event channel related functions which go via privcmd
(EVTCHNOP) rather than ioctls on the /dev/xen/evtchn device in
libxenctrl. Specifically:
- xc_evtchn_alloc_unbound
- xc_evtchn_reset
- xc_evtchn_status
Note that xc_evtchn_alloc_unbound's functionality is also provided by
xenevtchn_bind_unbound_port() (née xc_evtchn_bind_unbound_port) and is
probably redundant.
These functions do not appear to be needed by qemu-dm, qemu-pv
(provision of device model to HVM guests and PV backends respectively)
or by libvchan suggesting they are not needed by non-toolstack uses of
event channels. QEMU does use these in hw/xenpv/xen_domainbuild.c but
that is a "toolstack use".
The new library uses a version script to ensure that only expected
symbols are exported and to version them such that ABI guarantees can
be kept in the future.

Declaring a formal parameter to have an array type doesn't result in
the parameter actually having an array type. The type is "adjusted"
to a pointer. (C99 6.9.1(7), 6.7.5.3.)
So the use of sizeof in xc_suspend.c:get_suspend_file was wrong.
Instead, use the #define. Also get rid of the array size, as it is
misleading.
Newer versions of gcc warn about the erroneous code:
xc_suspend.c:39:25: error: argument to 'sizeof' in 'snprintf' call
is the same expression as the destination; did you mean to provide
an explicit length? [-Werror=sizeof-pointer-memaccess]

v2: Actually change the declaration of buf.
Use fcntl F_SETLK, rather than writing our pid into a "lock" file.
That way if we crash we don't leave the lockfile lying about. Callers
now need to keep the fd for our lockfile. (We don't use flock because
we don't want anyone who inherits this fd across fork to end up with a
handle onto the lock.)
While we are here:
* Move the lockfile to /var/run/xen
* De-duplicate the calculation of the pathname
* Compute the buffer size for the pathname so that it will definitely
not overrun (and use the computed value everywhere)
* Fix various error handling bugs

xc_suspend_evtchn_init expects to eat the first event on the xce. If
the xce is used for any other purpose then this can break. Document
this fact and rename the function to xc_suspend_evtchn_init_exclusive.
(I haven't checked the call sites for improper shared use of the xce.)
Provide a corresponding xc_suspend_evtchn_init_sane which doesn't try
to eat an event, and instead leaves the caller the ability to
demultiplex.
Also document that xc_await_suspend needs exclusive use of the xce.

tools/libxc, tools/libelf: Relicense under LGPL v2.1
Relicense these two libraries under LGPL v2.1 only except where
individual files already included the "or later" provision.
Copyright holders have been contacted by Stephen Spector and have all
agreed this change.
Removed tools/libxc/ia64/aclinux.h since it appeared to be
unused. There is a separate, more up to date, copy in
xen/include/acpi/platform/aclinux.h which does appear to be used.
Clarify the license of MiniOS privcmd.h under the same terms as other
tools/include/xen-sys headers.

This patch eliminate the global variables in libxenctrl (used for
logging and error reporting).
Instead the information which was in the global variables is now in a
new xc_interface* opaque structure, which xc_interface open returns
instead of the raw file descriptor; furthermore, logging is done via
xentoollog.
There are three new parameters to xc_interface_open to control the
logging, but existing callers can just pass "0" for all three to get
the old behaviour.
All libxc callers have been adjusted accordingly.
Also update QEMU_TAG for corresponding qemu change.

This patch support exchange a page for a suspended PV guest from user
space.
The basic idea to offline a page is:
1) mark a page offline pending
2) If the page is owned by a HVM domain, user have to live migrate it.
In future, with stub-domain support, we can also exchange the page
without migration.
3) If the page is owned by a PV domain, we will try to exchange the
offline pending page to a new one and free the old page.
This patch achieves item 3.
The method to exchange the offline pending page for PV domain is:
1) Suspend the guest.
2) If the page is being granted out, return with offline pending.
3) Get a copy for the content
4) Scan all page table page to see if any reference to the offending
page, if yes, make the entry to be non-present to reduce the reference
count.
5) After update all page tables, user space tools will try to exchange
the old page. If the new mfn has no reference anymore (i.e.
count_info & count_mask =3D 1), the exchange will allocate a new page,
update the m2p and return success, otherwise it will return fail.
6) If step 5 is success, user space tools will update the content of
the new page change the p2m table, and change all entries scaned in
step 4 to point to new entry.
if step failed, it will try to undo step 4 to revert page table.
7) Resume the guest.
