Juergen Gross 2d4ba20559 tools/tests: let test-xenstore exit with non-0 status in case of error
In case a test is failing in test-xenstore, let the tool exit with an
exit status other than 0.

Fix a typo in an error message.

Juergen Gross 642005e310 tools/tests: don't let test-xenstore write nodes exceeding default size
Today test-xenstore will write nodes with 3000 bytes node data. This
size is exceeding the default quota for the allowed node size. While
working in dom0 with C-xenstored, OCAML-xenstored does not like that.

Use a size of 2000 instead, which is lower than the allowed default
node size of 2048.

Juergen Gross 5b18843067 tools: rename xen-tools/libs.h file to common-macros.h
In order to better reflect the contents of the header and to make it
more appropriate to use it for different runtime environments like
programs, libraries, and firmware, rename the libs.h include file to
common-macros.h. Additionally add a comment pointing out the need to be
self-contained.

Anthony PERARD 40d96f0c7d tools: Remove -Werror everywhere else
The previous changeset, e4f5949c44 ("tools: Add -Werror by default to all
tools/"), added "-Werror" to CFLAGS in tools/Rules.mk. Remove it from
everywhere else now it is duplicated.

Jan Beulich 2d4978ead4 tests/xenstore: link in librt if necessary
Old enough glibc has clock_gettime() in librt.so, hence the library
needs to be specified to the linker. Newer glibc has the symbol
available in both libraries, so make sure that libc.so is preferred (to
avoid an unnecessary dependency on librt.so).

Andrew Cooper 93c9edbef5 tests/xenstore: Rework Makefile
In particular, fill in the install/uninstall rules so this test can be
packaged to be automated sensibly.

This causes the code to be noticed by CI, which objects as follows:

  test-xenstore.c: In function 'main':
test-xenstore.c:486:5: error: ignoring return value of 'asprintf', declared
  with attribute warn_unused_result [-Werror=unused-result]
       asprintf(&path, "%s/%u", TEST_PATH, getpid());
       ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Address the CI failure by checking the asprintf() return value and exiting.

Rename xs-test to test-xenstore to be consistent with other tests. Honour
APPEND_FLAGS too.

Ian Jackson fff4aa914d DEPS handling: Use DEPS_INCLUDE everywhere
DEPS_INCLUDE is currently the same as DEPS, so no functional change.

This patch is the result of this perl rune:

  git-grep -l 'include.*DEPS' | xargs perl -i -pe 'next unless m/^-?include/; s/\bDEPS\b/DEPS_INCLUDE/'

I have verified that I haven't missed anything, with this rune:

  git-grep '\bDEPS\b'

Juergen Gross 3afc5e4a5b tools/tests: add xenstore testing framework
Add tools/tests/xenstore for a framework to do tests of xenstore.
The aim is to test for correctness and performance.

Add a test program containing some tests meant to be run against any
xenstore implementation (xenstored, oxenstored, xenstore-stubdom).

It is using libxenstore for access to xenstore and supports multiple
tests to be either selected all or individually. All tests are using
/local/domain/<own-domid>/xenstore-test/<pid> as base for doing the
tests. This allows multiple instances of the program to run in
parallel.
