When there isn't a version-script for a shared library (like for
unstable libs), we create one based on the current Xen version. But
that version-script became out-of-date as soon as Xen's version
changes and make as no way to regenerate the version-script on
rebuild.
For unstable libs, we only needs the symver to be different from a
previous release of Xen. There's an option "--default-symver" which
allow to use the soname as symver and as the soname have the Xen
release version, it will be different for every release. With
--default-symver we don't need to generate a version-script.
But we also need to know if there's already an existing version script
, for that we introduce $(version-script) to be used to point to the
path of the existing script. (Guessing if a version script exist for a
stable library with for example $(wildcard) won't work as a file will
exist when building the library without this patch.)
We don't need the version-script unless we are making the shared
library so it is removed from the "all" target.

Commit 0dbb4be739 add the inclusion of xenctrl.h from private.h and

This is happening because xenctrl.h defines __XEN_TOOLS__ and therefore
the public headers will start to expose the non-stable ABI. However,
xen.h has already been included by a mini-OS header before hand. So
there is a mismatch in the way the headers are included.
For now solve it in a very simple (and gross) way by including
xenctrl.h before the mini-os headers.

Versions of linux privcmd prior to commit dc9eab6fd94d ("return -ENOTTY
for unimplemented IOCTLs") will return -EINVAL rather than the conventional
-ENOTTY for unimplemented codes. This breaks the error path in
libxenforeignmemory resource mapping, which only translates ENOTTY into
EOPNOTSUPP to inform callers of the need to use an alternative (legacy)
mechanism.
This patch adds a new 'unimplemented' [1] ioctl code into the local
privcmd header which is then used to probe for the appropriate errno to
translate in the resource mapping error path
[1] this is a code that has, so far, never been used in any version of
privcmd and will be added to future versions of the header in the

Linux has had O_CLOEXEC since 2.6.23 (October 2007), so we can rely on

definition, so we take care of that if need be by defining to 0 (on
the premise that such an old glibc might barf on O_CLOEXEC even if the
kernel may or may not be so old).
All stable versions of FreeBSD support O_CLOEXEC (10.2, 9.3 and 8.4),
and we assume the libc there does too.
