Ian Campbell 7d0a3b7661 Replace references to old wiki with ones to new.
I have confirmed that the relevant pages have been transitioned.

What remains is pages which have not yet been moved over:

$ rgrep xenwiki *
tools/libxen/README:http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenApi
tools/xenballoon/xenballoond.README:http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Open_Topics_For_Discussion?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=Memory+Overcommit.pdf

Note that "PythonInXlConfig" never existed in the old wiki and does not exist
in the new. This reference was introduced by 22735:cb94dbe20f97 and was
supposed to have been written prior to the 4.1 release. I have transitioned it
anyway but it's not clear how valuable the message actually is. Perhaps we
should just remove that aspect of it?

George Dunlap 3ec1e58d33 xen: Add global irq_vector_map option, set if using AMD global intremap tables
As mentioned in previous changesets, AMD IOMMU interrupt
remapping tables only look at the vector, not the destination
id of an interrupt. This means that all IRQs going through
the same interrupt remapping table need to *not* share vectors.

The irq "vector map" functionality was originally introduced
after a patch which disabled global AMD IOMMUs entirely. That
patch has since been reverted, meaning that AMD intremap tables
can either be per-device or global.

This patch therefore introduces a global irq vector map option,
and enables it if we're using an AMD IOMMU with a global
interrupt remapping table.

This patch removes the "irq-perdev-vector-map" boolean
command-line optino and replaces it with "irq_vector_map",
which can have one of three values: none, global, or per-device.

Setting the irq_vector_map to any value will override the
default that the AMD code sets.

Keir Fraser 2a738c3fe1 tools: vnet: Remove
Build has been broken since at least 18969:d6889b3b6423 (early
2009) and it has been unhooked from the top level build since forever
AFAICT. The last actual development (as opposed to tree wide
cleanups and build fixes) appears to have been 11594:6d7bba6443ef in
2006. The functionality of vnet has apparently been superceded by
VLANs, ebtables, Ethernet-over-IP etc all of which are well integrated
with upstream kernels and distros.

Keir Fraser accacb43cb Simplify 'dma heap' logic.
1. Only useful for NUMA systems, so turn it off on non-NUMA systems by
   default.
2. On NUMA systems, by default relate the DMA heap size to NUMA node 0
memory size (so that not all of node 0's memory ends up being 'DMA
   heap').
3. Remove the 'dma emergency pool'. It's less useful now that running
out of low memory isn;t as fatal as it used to be (e.g., when we
needed to be able to allocate low-memory PAE page directories).

Based on patches by Andre Przywara and Xiaowei Yang.

Keir Fraser aac518b954 tools/docs: Fix example and default IP addresses.
In various places in documentation and code, IP addresses are provided
as examples, defaults, or dummy configuration. In general the
specific IP addresses used in Xen are not always appropriate. (For
example, 1.2.3.4 is used in a few places!)

The following addresses should be used:
 * For examples and documentation, 192.0.2.0/24. (See RFC3330.)
 * For defaults for private networks, a random network from RFC1918.
I have randomly selected 172.30.206.0/24 for this purpose and
documented this in at the only registry I know of,
www.ucam.org/cam-grin. This network should henceforth be used for
default configurations of local bridges, test networks, etc. in
   Xen tools.

The following addresses should NOT be used:
 * 10.0.*.*, 10.1.*.*, 192.168.0.*, 192.168.1.*, etc.  Using these
addresses gives greatly increased likelihood of collision, as
ignorant network administrators and reckless middlebox vendors
often pick networks from the bottom of 10/8 and 192.168/16.
 * 169.254.*.*. These are reserved for zeroconf (ad-hoc networking)
and should not be used for Xen private networks, bridges, etc.,
etc. Use of these addresses by Xen scripts causes trouble on hosts
(eg laptops) which find themselves in ad-hoc networking
environments. I think this is not hypothetical (!) since at least
one Linux distribution have specific code to detect this case and
cause Xen startup to fail iff the host already has an external
   zeroconf address.
 * 1.2.3.4.  WTF !?

I have also used 127.0.255.255 in one place where apparently a dummy
address is needed (some Linux kernels won't accept a lack of an NFS
server address). If 127.0.255.255 is mistakenly used it is unlikely
to do any damage to real traffic even if it does escape into the
network at large.

kfraser@localhost.localdomain 8c706ec28d acm: Changes to XML schema of the policy
This patch changes the XML schema of the ACM policy to require a
version and that every conflict set have a name. Every VM label must
have one Chinese Wall Type and every resource label one Simple Type
Enforcement Type. As a consequence of this some example policies
needed to be changed. Also not offering that many configuration
options for compiling xen anymore to make things simpler.

kfraser@localhost.localdomain 7ffcc43b02 [XEN] Extend dom0_mem syntax to support min/max clamps.
dom0_mem=[min:<min_amt>,][max:<max_amt>,][<amt>]

<min_amt>: The minimum amount of memory which should be allocated for dom0.
<max_amt>: The maximum amount of memory which should be allocated for dom0.
<amt>: The precise amount of memory to allocate for dom0.

Notes:
 1. <amt> is clamped from below by <min_amt> and from above by available
    memory and <max_amt>
 2. <min_amt> is clamped from above by available memory and <max_amt>
 3. <min_amt> is ignored if it is greater than <max_amt>
 4. If <amt> is not specified, it is calculated as follows:
"All of memory is allocated to domain 0, minus 1/16th which is reserved
for uses such as DMA buffers (the reservation is clamped to 128MB)."

Each value can be specified as positive or negative:
If +ve: The specified amount is an absolute value.
If -ve: The specified amount is subtracted from total available memory.
