Roger Pau Monne 738301591c vpci: do not expose unneeded functions to the user-space test harness
Some functions in vpci.c (vpci_remove_device and vpci_add_handlers)
are not used by the user-space test harness, so guard them with
__XEN__ in order to avoid exposing them to the user-space test
harness.

Roger Pau Monne 9c244fdef7 vpci: add header handlers
Introduce a set of handlers that trap accesses to the PCI BARs and the
command register, in order to snoop BAR sizing and BAR relocation.

The command handler is used to detect changes to bit 2 (response to
memory space accesses), and maps/unmaps the BARs of the device into
the guest p2m. A rangeset is used in order to figure out which memory
to map/unmap. This makes it easier to keep track of the possible
overlaps with other BARs, and will also simplify MSI-X support, where
certain regions of a BAR might be used for the MSI-X table or PBA.

The BAR register handlers are used to detect attempts by the guest to
size or relocate the BARs.

Note that the long running BAR mapping and unmapping operations are
deferred to be performed by hvm_io_pending, so that they can be safely
preempted.

Roger Pau Monne e90580f25b vpci: introduce basic handlers to trap accesses to the PCI config space
This functionality is going to reside in vpci.c (and the corresponding
vpci.h header), and should be arch-agnostic. The handlers introduced
in this patch setup the basic functionality required in order to trap
accesses to the PCI config space, and allow decoding the address and
finding the corresponding handler that should handle the access
(although no handlers are implemented).

Note that the traps to the PCI IO ports registers (0xcf8/0xcfc) are
setup inside of a x86 HVM file, since that's not shared with other
arches.

A new XEN_X86_EMU_VPCI x86 domain flag is added in order to signal Xen
whether a domain should use the newly introduced vPCI handlers, this
is only enabled for PVH Dom0 at the moment.

A very simple user-space test is also provided, so that the basic
functionality of the vPCI traps can be asserted. This has been proven
quite helpful during development, since the logic to handle partial
accesses or accesses that expand across multiple registers is not
trivial.

The handlers for the registers are added to a linked list that's keep
sorted at all times. Both the read and write handlers support accesses
that expand across multiple emulated registers and contain gaps not
emulated.

Jan Beulich f26186f2d4 x86emul: add read-modify-write hook
In order to correctly emulate read-modify-write insns, especially
LOCKed ones, we should not issue reads and writes separately. Use a
new hook to combine both, and don't uniformly read the memory
destination anymore. Instead, DstMem opcodes without Mov now need to
have done so in their respective case blocks.

Also strip bogus _ prefixes from macro parameters when this only affects
lines which are being changed anyway.

In the test harness, besides some re-ordering to facilitate running a
few tests twice (one without and a second time with the .rmw hook in
place), tighten a few EFLAGS checks and add a test for NOT with memory
operand (in particular to verify EFLAGS don't get altered there).

For now make use of the hook optional for callers; eventually we may
want to consider making this mandatory.

Jan Beulich 715bdd0e47 x86emul/test: wrap libc functions with FPU save/restore code
Currently with the native tool chain on Debian Jessie ./test_x86_emulator
yields:

  Testing AVX2 256bit single native execution...okay
  Testing AVX2 256bit single 64-bit code sequence...[line 933] failed!

The bug is that libc's memcpy() in read() uses %xmm8 (specifically, in
__memcpy_sse2_unaligned()), which corrupts %ymm8 behind the back of the AVX2
test code.

Introduce wrappers (and machinery to forward calls to those wrappers)
saving/restoring FPU state around certain library calls.

Jan Beulich 79136f2673 x86emul/test: keep compiler from using {x,y,z}mm registers itself
Since the emulator acts on the live hardware registers, we need to
prevent the compiler from using them e.g. for inlined memcpy() /
memset() (as gcc7 does). We can't, however, set this from the command
line, as otherwise the 64-bit build would face issues with functions
returning floating point values and being declared in standard headers.

As the pragma isn't available prior to gcc6, we need to invoke it
conditionally. Luckily up to gcc6 we haven't seen generated code access
SIMD registers beyond what our asm()s do.

George Dunlap 4955d680c7 fuzz/x86_emulate: Rename the file containing the wrapper code
When generating coverage output, by default gcov generates output
filenames based only on the coverage file and the "leaf" source file,
not the full path. As a result, it uses the same name for
x86_emulate.c and x86_emulate/x86_emulate.c, generally overwriting the
second (which we actually are about) with the first (which is just a
wrapper).

Rename the user-space wrapper helpers to x86-emulate.[ch], so
that it generates separate files.

There is actually an option to gcov, `--preserve-paths`, which will
cause the full path name to be included in the filename, properly
distinguishing between the two. However, given that the user-space
wrapper doesn't actually do any emulation (and the poor state of gcov
documentation making it difficult to find the option in the first
place), it seems to make more sense to rename the file anyway.

Jan Beulich 0711b59b85 x86emul: correct FPU code/data pointers and opcode handling
Prevent leaking the hypervisor ones (stored by hardware during stub
execution), at once making sure the guest sees correct values there.
This piggybacks on the backout logic used to deal with write faults of
FPU insns.

Deliberately ignore the NO_FPU_SEL feature here: Honoring it would
merely mean extra code with no benefit (once we XRSTOR state, the
selector values will simply be lost anyway).

Jan Beulich a8fcd80c8f x86emul: correct handling of FPU insns faulting on memory write
When an FPU instruction with a memory destination fails during the
memory write, it should not affect FPU register state. Due to the way
we emulate FPU (and SIMD) instructions, we can only guarantee this by
- backing out changes to the FPU register state in such a case or
- doing a descriptor read and/or page walk up front, perhaps with the
stubs accessing the actual memory location then.
The latter would require a significant change in how the emulator does
its guest memory accessing, so for now the former variant is being
chosen.

Jan Beulich cb4fcf70b2 x86emul: parallelize SIMD test code building
In anticipation of further flavors (AVX, AVX-512) going to be added
(which would make the current situation even worse), facilitate
reduction of build time (and hence latency to availability of test
results) via use of make's -j option.

Andrew Cooper c2e316b2f2 x86/emul: Correct the decoding of mov to/from cr/dr
The mov to/from cr/dr behave as if they were encoded with Mod = 3. When
encoded with Mod != 3, no displacement or SIB bytes are fetched.

Add a test with a deliberately malformed ModRM byte. (Also add the
automatically-generated simd.h to .gitignore.)

Jan Beulich 92a47d77e1 x86emul: test coverage for SSE3/SSSE3/SSE4* insns
... and their AVX equivalents. Note that a few instructions aren't
covered (yet), but those all fall into common pattern groups, so I
would hope that for now we can do with what is there.

Just like for SSE/SSE2, MMX insns aren't being covered at all, as
they're not easy to deal with: The compiler refuses to emit such for
other than uses of built-in functions.

The current way of testing AVX insns is meant to be temporary only:
Once we fully support that feature, the present tests should rather be
replaced than full ones simply added.
