Juergen Gross 0738d6fe71 stubdom: modify ioemu linkfarm only if necessary
Several stubdom libraries are being rebuilt each time a top level make
is called as they depend on stubdom/ioemu/linkfarm.stamp which is
depending on tools/qemu-xen-traditional-dir. Unfortunately this
directory is modified by each "make tools" call.

This can be avoided by writing stubdom/ioemu/linkfarm.stamp only if
a source file beneath tools/qemu-xen-traditional-dir has been added
or removed.

Juergen Gross cbe2ecccac stubdom: remove EXTRA_CFLAGS meant for building tools
When building stubdoms EXTRA_CFLAGS_XEN_TOOLS and
EXTRA_CFLAGS_QEMU_TRADITIONAL should be cleared as they might contain
flags not suitable for all stubdom builds (e.g. "-m64" often to be

Juergen Gross 589899cf4f stubdom: simplify and fix Makefile
The stubdom Makefile is setting up links for various libraries. This
is done only once when qemu links are created and each library's links
are updated/created only if the link for the Makefile of the library
isn't already existing. In case a source is added to one library after
doing the first make of stubdom the new source won't be linked by a
new call of make.

Instead of testing the existence of the Makefile link use a make
dependency which will catch changes of the linked Makefile, too.

At the same time don't repeat the same link pattern 7 times but use a
make macro to do the linking.

Wei Liu 31d41d7bc8 build: make debug option affect tools only
The debug option in Config.mk affects hypervisor, tools and stubdom by
appending different flags to CFLAGS. Mini-os under extra is not
affected because it already has its own build system when it is
separated from xen.git.

It is undesirable because now hypervisor build is affected by both
Kconfig and debug.

Disentangle the semantics of debug by pushing relevant options to
individual sub-systems.

For hypervisor, the flags previously added by debug option is now
controlled by CONFIG_DEBUG.

For tools, flags are moved from config/*.mk into tools/Rules.mk.

For stubdom, because it unilaterally sets debug=y before including
top-level Config.mk, we only need to move the debug build set of flags
into stubdom Makefile.

Specifically there are some considerations on what flags are picked:

1. we don't need -fno-optimize-sibling-calls anymore because gcc doc
indicates that it is not enabled for -O1, which we already set in the
   debug build.
2. for tools we use -O0 -g3 in Rules.mk because they already take
precedence over the flags set in config/*.mk.
3. for hypervisor we don't add -fno-omit-frame-pointer to debug build
   because that's controlled by CONFIG_FRAME_POINTER.

This patch doesn't intend to tune those flags, but to provide identical
set of effective flags as before. The debug option in Config.mk will
only affect tools components after this patch is applied.

Ian Campbell 3248691679 tools: Refactor foreign memory mapping into libxenforeignmemory
libxenforeignmemory will provide a stable API and ABI for mapping
foreign domain memory (subject to appropriate privileges).

The new library exposes an interface equivalent to
xc_map_foreign_memory_bulk, which all the other
xc_map_foreign_memory_* functions (which remain in libxc) are
implemented in terms of.

Upon request (via #define XC_WANT_COMPAT_MAP_FOREIGN_API) libxenctrl
will provide a compat API for the old names. This is used by qemu-xen
and qemu-trad as well as various in tree things (which required
de-dupping various #includes in some too to get the #define before the

Ian Campbell 3e9b0d5408 tools: Refactor hypercall calling wrappers into libxencall.
libxencall will provide a stable API and ABI for calling hypercalls
(although those hypercalls themselves may not have a stable API). As
well as the hypercall buffer infrastructure needed in order to safely
provide pointer arguments to hypercalls.

libxenctrl encapsulates a instance of this interface, so users of that
library are not currently subjected to any actual changes. However all
hypercalls made internally by libxc now use the correct interface. It
is expected that most users of this library will be other libraries
providing a higher level interface, rather than applications directly.

Only the basic functionality to allocate hypercall safe memory is
moved, the type safe stuff and bounce buffers remain in libxc.

Note that the functionality to map foreign pages using privcmd is not
yet moved, meaning that an xc_interface will now contain two open
privcmd file descriptors. Foreign memory mapping is logically separate
functionality and will be moved into its own library.

The new library uses a version script to ensure that only expected
symbols are exported and to version them such that ABI guarantees can
be kept in the future.

Ian Campbell a71ad0fead tools: Refactor /dev/xen/gnt{dev,shr} wrappers into libxengnttab.
libxengnttab will provide a stable API and ABI for accessing the
grant table devices.

The functions are moved into the xengnt{tab, shr} namespace to make a
clean break from libxc and avoid ambiguity regarding which interfaces
are stable.

All in-tree users are updated to use the new names.

Upon request (via #define XC_WANT_COMPAT_GNTTAB_API) libxenctrl will
provide a compat API for the old names. This is used by qemu-xen for
the time being. qemu-xen-traditional is updated in lockstep.

This leaves a few grant table related functions which go via privcmd
(GNTTABOP) rather than ioctls on the /dev/xen/gnt* devices in
libxenctrl. Specifically:

  - xc_gnttab_get_version
  - xc_gnttab_map_table_v1
  - xc_gnttab_map_table_v2
  - xc_gnttab_op

These functions do not appear to be needed by qemu-dm, qemu-pv
(provision of device model to HVM guests and PV backends respectively)
or by libvchan suggesting they are not needed by non-toolstack uses of
event channels.

The new library uses a version script to ensure that only expected
symbols are exported and to version them such that ABI guarantees can
be kept in the future.

After this change libxenvchan no longer needs to link against
libxenctrl. It still needs xenctrl.h in one file for xen_mb and
friends.

This leaves a few event channel related functions which go via privcmd

 - xc_evtchn_alloc_unbound
 - xc_evtchn_reset
 - xc_evtchn_status

Note that xc_evtchn_alloc_unbound's functionality is also provided by
xenevtchn_bind_unbound_port() (née xc_evtchn_bind_unbound_port) and is
probably redundant.

These functions do not appear to be needed by qemu-dm, qemu-pv
(provision of device model to HVM guests and PV backends respectively)
or by libvchan suggesting they are not needed by non-toolstack uses of
event channels. QEMU does use these in hw/xenpv/xen_domainbuild.c but
that is a "toolstack use".

Ian Campbell b48aae50a8 stubdom: recurse into tools/include in mk-headers-$(XEN_TARGET_ARCH) rule

This puts all the header dependencies in one place and will allow us
to avoid races when more libraries which need these headers are
introduced. I observed issues with the xen-foreign/tmp.size file
getting deleted in parallel with another process trying to use it.

The mini-os links are already created in the
mk-headers-$(XEN_TARGET_ARCH) target so the other places which do so
are redundant, in the case of polarssl and vtpmmgr indirectly through
their eventual dependency on newlib which in turn depends on

Emil Condrea 83d1be544c vtpmmgr: execute deep quote in locality 0
Enables deep quote execution for vtpmmgr which can not be started
using locality 2. Flags are used to request additional data to be
present when executing quote. They are interpreted as a bitmask of:
 * VTPM_QUOTE_FLAGS_HASH_UUID
 * VTPM_QUOTE_FLAGS_VTPM_MEASUREMENTS
 * VTPM_QUOTE_FLAGS_GROUP_INFO
 * VTPM_QUOTE_FLAGS_GROUP_PUBKEY

The externData param for TPM_Quote is calculated as:
externData = SHA1 (
       extraInfoFlags
       requestData
       [SHA1 (
          [SHA1 (UUIDs if requested)]
          [SHA1 (vTPM measurements if requested)]
[SHA1 (vTPM group update policy if requested)]
[SHA1 (vTPM group public key if requested)]
       ) if flags !=0 ]
)

The response param pcrValues is an array containing requested hashes used
for externData calculation : UUIDs, vTPM measurements, vTPM group update
policy, group public key. At the end of these hashes the PCR values are
appended.

Wei Liu ed6dd1db77 stubdom: fix make clean and distclean on a freshly cloned tree
Clean and distclean targets need not depend on existence of the mini-os
tree. Don't check for mini-os and don't try to blindly include
mini-os's Config.mk when doing clean and distclean.

Note that one subtle issue is that $(XEN_ROOT)/Config.mk tries to
include $(XEN_ROOT)/config/$(XEN_OS).mk. In stubdom's case XEN_OS is
"MiniOS". Then $(XEN_ROOT)/config/MiniOS.mk tries to include mini-os's
Config.mk.

Since clean and distclean don't enforce existence of mini-os tree, don't
include $(XEN_ROOT)/Config.mk to avoid getting error due to the
aforementioned issue.

Wei Liu 42ddf48a29 build system: stubdom targets now depends on mini-os target
Provide mini-os url and revision in Config.mk

Make stubdom targets depend on mini-os-dir target. Make
subtree-force-update{,-all} depend on mini-os-dir-force-update.

Also make mktarball script generate mini-os archive.

Original mini-os directory is renamed to mini-os-intree to help reduce
patch length. That directory will be deleted in a separate patch.
