Cédric Bosdonnat cf41a5bf3b libxl: fix gentypes call in Makefile
From the make documentation:

"$* [...] If the target is `dir/a.foo.b' and the target pattern is
`a.%.b' then the stem is `dir/foo'. In a static pattern rule, the
stem is part of the file name that matched the `%' in the target
pattern."

The rule generating the c types files from the idl ones is not
a static pattern rule, but rather an implicit rule. Thus the value
of $* is preceded by the file path, instead of only what matches %.

In order to get this fixed, drop the path using a $(notdir $*).

Boris Ostrovsky 160e128992 tools/libacpi: Be specific about which DSDT files to build
There is no reason to build, for example, dsdt_pvh.asl for hvmloader. We
pass which DSDTs to build via DSDT_FILES parameter.

Roger Pau Monne 4000a7c7d7 tools/configure: fix pkg-config install path for FreeBSD
pkg-config from FreeBSD ports doesn't have ${prefix}/share/pkgconfig in the
default search path, fix this by having a PKG_INSTALLDIR variable that can
be changed on a per-OS basis.

It would be best to use PKG_INSTALLDIR as defined by the pkg.m4 macro, but
sadly this also reports a wrong value on FreeBSD (${libdir}/pkgconfig, which
expands to /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig by default, and is also _not_ part of
the default pkg-config search path).

This patch should not change the behavior for Linux installs.

It uses static DSDT table like the way x86 uses. Currently the DSDT

Wei Liu 3f0ae679f2 tools: remove blktap2 related code and documentation
Blktap2 is effectively dead code for a few years.

Notable changes in this patch:

0. Unhook blktap2 from build system
1. Now libxl no longer supports TAP disk backend, appropriate assertions
are added and some code paths now return ERROR_FAIL
2. Tap is no longer a supported backend in doc
3. Remove relevant entries in MAINTAINERS

A patch to actually remove blktap2 directory will come later.

Ian Campbell b7f76a699d tools: Refactor /dev/xen/evtchn wrappers into libxenevtchn.
libxenevtchn will provide a stable API and ABI for accessing the
evtchn device.

The functions are moved into the xenevtchn namespace to make a clean
break from libxc and avoid ambiguity regarding which interfaces are
stable.

All in-tree users are updated to use the new names.

Upon request (via #define XC_WANT_COMPAT_EVTCHN_API) libxenctrl will
provide a compat API for the old names. This is used by qemu-xen for
the time being. qemu-xen-traditional is updated in lockstep.

This leaves a few event channel related functions which go via privcmd
(EVTCHNOP) rather than ioctls on the /dev/xen/evtchn device in
libxenctrl. Specifically:

 - xc_evtchn_alloc_unbound
 - xc_evtchn_reset
 - xc_evtchn_status

Note that xc_evtchn_alloc_unbound's functionality is also provided by
xenevtchn_bind_unbound_port() (née xc_evtchn_bind_unbound_port) and is
probably redundant.

These functions do not appear to be needed by qemu-dm, qemu-pv
(provision of device model to HVM guests and PV backends respectively)
or by libvchan suggesting they are not needed by non-toolstack uses of
event channels. QEMU does use these in hw/xenpv/xen_domainbuild.c but
that is a "toolstack use".

The new library uses a version script to ensure that only expected
symbols are exported and to version them such that ABI guarantees can
be kept in the future.

Update libxc to 4.6.
Update libxl to 4.6.
Update libxlu to 4.6.

I did
  git-grep 'MAJOR.*='
and also to check I had everything
  git-grep 'SONAME_LDFLAG' | egrep -v 'MAJOR' |less

The other, un-updated, libraries are:
blktap2 (control, libvhd) 1.0 in-tree users only, no ABI changes
  libfsimage 1.0 no ABI changes
  libvchan 1.0 no ABI changes
libxenstat 0.0 (!) no ABI changes
  libxenstore 3.0 no ABI changes

My assertions "no ABI changes" are based on the output of
  git-diff origin/stable-4.5..staging .
and similar runes, sometimes limited to .h files.

Yang Hongyang f1fe54e5bf tools/libxl: move domain suspend code into libxl_dom_suspend.c
Move domain suspend code into a separate file libxl_dom_suspend.c.
Add an API libxl__domain_suspend() which wraps the static
function domain_suspend_callback_common() for internal use.
Export the existing API libxl__domain_suspend_callback() used by
libxc to suspend the guest during migration.

Note that the newly added file libxl_dom_suspend.c is used for
suspend/resume code.

Provide a thin wrapper around exec()ing the python conversion utility,

One complication is that the caller of this interface needs to assume

Julien Grall 4b7fbef6fb tools/libxl: Check if fdt_{first,next}_subnode are present in libfdt
The functions fdt_{first,next}_subnode may not be available because:
    * It has been introduced in 2013 => Doesn't work on Wheezy
    * The prototype exists but the functions are not exposed. Don't ask
    why...

The later has been fixed recently in the dtc repo [1]

When the functions are not available, implement our own in order to use
them in a following patch.

Note that the _hidden attribute is placed in both the prototype and the
declaration because some version of libfdt expose the prototype but not
the declaration.

Andrew Cooper 027af8cdb3 tools/libxl: Correct static pattern rule for pkgconfig files
Attempting to build libxl causes Make to emit the following warnings

andrewcoop@andrewcoop:xen.git$ make -C tools/libxl all
...
Makefile:253: target `xenlight.pc' doesn't match the target pattern
Makefile:253: target `xlutil.pc' doesn't match the target pattern
...

because the static pattern rule is malformed. 'Makefile' as the only
prereq-pattern does not contain a pattern.

The rule ends up working because of the use of $@.in where $< should have been
used, but lacked any dependency between a $FOO.pc and its .in source file.
