xc_dom_alloc_segment() is passed a size in bytes, calculates a size in pages
from it, then fills in the new segment information with a bytes value
re-calculated from the number of pages.
This causes the module information given to the guest (MB, or PVH) to have
incorrect sizes; specifically, sizes rounded up to the next page.
This in turn is problematic for Xen. When Xen finds a gzipped module, it
peeks at the end metadata to judge the decompressed size, which is a -4
backreference from the reported end of the module.
Fill in seg->vend using the correct number of bytes.

that should succeed. libxl wasn't robust against this, and could fail
to ensure that the TTY path of a non-initial console was created and
read-only for guests. This doesn't qualify for an XSA because guests
should not be able to run xenstored out of memory, but it still needs to
be fixed.

libxl passes some information to libacpi to create the ACPI table for a PVH
guest, and among that information it's a bitmap of which vCPUs are online
which can be less than the maximum number of vCPUs assigned to the domain.
While the population of the bitmap is done correctly for HVM based on the
number of online vCPUs, for PVH the population of the bitmap is done based on
the number of maximum vCPUs allowed. This leads to all local APIC entries in
the MADT being set as enabled, which contradicts the data in xenstore if vCPUs
is different than maximum vCPUs.
Fix by copying the internal libxl bitmap that's populated based on the vCPUs
parameter.

actions to isolate.
Note that the user to run the bootloader as must have the right permissions to

be run in non-interactive mode when restricted.
If enabled bootloader restrict mode will attempt to re-use the user(s) from the

Currently, libxl will grant IOMEM, I/O port and IRQ permissions when
a PCI is attached (see pci_add_dm_done()) for all domain types. However,
the permissions are only revoked for non-HVM domain (see do_pci_remove()).
This means that HVM domains will be left with extra permissions. While
this look bad on the paper, the IRQ permissions should be revoked
when the Device Model call xc_physdev_unmap_pirq() and such domain
cannot directly mapped I/O port and IOMEM regions. Instead, this has to
be done by a Device Model.
The Device Model can only run in dom0 or PV stubdomain (upstream libxl
doesn't have support for HVM/PVH stubdomain).
For PV/PVH stubdomain, the permission are properly revoked, so there is
no security concern.
This leaves dom0. There are two cases:
1) Privileged: Anyone gaining access to the Device Model would already
have large control on the host.
2) Deprivileged: PCI passthrough require PHYSDEV operations which
are not accessible when the Device Model is restricted.
So overall, it is believed that the extra permissions cannot be exploited.
Rework the code so the permissions are all removed for HVM domains.
This needs to happen after the QEMU has detached the device. So
the revocation is now moved to pci_remove_detached().
Also add a comment on top of the error message when the PIRQ cannot
be unbind to explain this could be a spurious error as QEMU may have
already done it.

The _setdefault() function for virtio devices is getting called after
libxl__prepare_dtb(), which is late as libxl__prepare_dtb() expects the
defaults to be already set by this time.
Call libxl__virtio_devtype.set_default() from
libxl__domain_config_setdefault(), in a similar way as other devices
like disk, etc.

Only the VirtIO backend will watch xenstore to find out when a new
instance needs to be created for a guest, and read the parameters from
there. VirtIO frontend are only virtio, so they will not do anything
with the xenstore nodes. They can be removed.
While at it, also add a comment to the libxl_virtio.c file.

There is no real need for including tools/xenstore/utils.h from
libxenstore, as only streq() and ARRAY_SIZE() are obtained via that
header.
streq() is just !strcmp(), and ARRAY_SIZE() is brought in via
xen-tools/common-macros.h.

Replace the usage of the xenstore private list.h header with the
common xen_list.h one.
Use the XEN_TAILQ type list, as it allows to directly swap the
related macros/functions without having to change the logic.
