Unlike previous iterations of this patch the enum values now match the
underlying domctl values.
I looked at updating xl.cfg(5) for these while I was here but frankly, even
after reading the comment in xen/include/public/hvm/params.h, I don't have a
clue what they mean, no_missed_ticks_pending in particular might as well be
written in klingon...
For the same reason I didn't try and give the enum more user-friendly names.

Move a lot of
#include <stdfoo.h>
from individual files into libxl_internal.h. This helps avoid
portability mistakes where necessary system headers are omitted from
individual files, and is also of course a convenience when developing.
Also add
#include "libxl_osdeps.h" /* must come before any other headers */
to the top of most libxl*.c files, so that anyone who adds any headers
before libxl_internal.h will put the in the right place.

Add code to track the address of the VM generation ID buffer across a
save/restore or migrate, and increment it as necessary.
The address of the buffer is written into xenstore by hvmloader at
boot time. It must be read from xenstore by the caller of
xc_domain_save() and then written back again by the caller of
xc_domain_restore().
Note that the changes to xc_save.c and xc_restore.c are merely
sufficient for them to build.

This
1. makes the order of header inclusion more predictable
2. explicitly allows libxl_internal.h to use objects defined in libxl.h
3. removes the need for individual files to include these headers
Also
- remove some unnecessary #includes of libxl_utils.h,

This should never have been exposed to users as something they are
required to think about, unless they want to.
At the libxl API level:
* Move libxl_domain_build_info.kernel into the PV side of the
tagged union (using this field to specify both PV kernel and
hvmloader is confusing)
* Add hvmloader (a string) to the HVM side of the tagged union.
This defaults to NULL and libxl will DTRT with that default
but still allow libxl users to specify something explicit if
they want.
At the xl level:
* WARN if an HVM guest cfg uses the "kernel" config option, and
direct users to the "hvmloader_override" option if they really
do not want the default hvmloader.

This is accomplished by converting a couple of embedded arrays (in one
case a structure containing an array) into separately allocated
pointers, and (just as for struct arch_vcpu in a prior patch)
overlaying some PV-only fields with HVM-only ones.
One particularly noteworthy change in the opposite direction is that
of PITState - this field so far lived in the HVM-only portion, but is
being used by PV guests too, and hence needed to be moved out of
struct hvm_domain.
The change to XENMEM_set_memory_map (and hence libxl__build_pre() and
the movement of the E820 related pieces to struct pv_domain) are
subject to a positive response to a query sent to xen-devel regarding
the need for this to happen for HVM guests (see
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2011-03/msg01848.html).
The protection of arch.hvm_domain.irq.dpci accesses by is_hvm_domain()
is subject to confirmation that the field is used for HVM guests only
(see
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2011-03/msg02004.html).
In the absence of any reply to these queries, and given the early
state of 4.2 development, I think it should be acceptable to take the
risk of having to later undo/redo some of this.

Prior to 22909:6868f7f3ab3f libxl would loop waiting simultaneously
for the domain the acknowledge a PV suspend request (by clearing the
XenStore node) and for the domain to actually suspend. For HVM guests
without PV drivers this same loop was simply waiting for the domain to
suspend.
In 22909:6868f7f3ab3f the original loop was split into two loops
(first waiting for the acknowledgement and then for the actual
suspend). This caused libxl to incorrectly wait for an HVM guest
without PV drivers to acknowledge the XenStore request, which is not
something it would ever do.
Fix this by only waiting for an acknowledgement from a guest which
contains PV drivers.
Previously we were also making the request regardless of whether the
guest had PV drivers, change that to only make the request if the
guest has PV drivers.
Lastly there is no need to sample HVM_PARAM_ACPI_S_STATE twice and not
doing so simplifies the test for PVHVM vs. normal HVM guests.
Tested with:
Windows with GPL PV drivers (event channel suspend mode)
Windows without PV drivers (xc_domain_shutdown mode)
Linux PV (PV with XenBus control node mode)
Linux HVM (PVHVM with XenBus control node mode (*))
Linux HVM (xc_domain_shutdown mode)
(*) In this case the kernel didn't actually suspend, due to:
PM: Device input1 failed to suspend: error -22
xen suspend: dpm_suspend_start -22
which may be a misconfiguration in my setup or may be a kernel
bug, but the libxl side dealt with this as gracefully as it could.

The PV suspend protocol requires guest co-operating whereby the guest
must respond to a suspend request written to the xenstore control node
by clearing the node and then making a suspend hypercall.
Currently when a guest fails to do this libxl times out and returns
a generic failure code to the caller.
In response to this failure xl attempts to resume the guest. However
if the guest has not responded to the suspend request then the is no
guarantee that the guest has made the suspend hypercall (in fact it is
quite unlikely). Since the resume process attempts to modify the
return value of the hypercall (to indicate a cancelled suspend) this
results in the guest eax/rax register being corrupted!
To fix this change libxl to do the following:
* Wait for the guest to acknowledge the suspend request.
- on timeout cancel the suspend request.
- if cancellation is successful then return a new error code to
indicate that the guest is not responding.
- if the cancel does not succeed then we raced with the guest
which actually did acknowledge at the last minute, so
continue.
* Wait for the guest to suspend.
- on timeout return the standard error code as before
* Guest successfully suspended, return success.
Lastly in xl do not attempt to resume a guest if it has not responded
to the suspend request.
Tested by live migration of PVops kernels which either ignore the
suspend request, have already crashed and those which suspend/resume
correctly. In the first two cases the source domain is left alone (and
continues to function in the first case) and in the third the
migration is successful.

In the default "QemuDeviceModelRecord"-style HVM tail of the migration
protocol the size of the qemu save record is unknown at the receiver
and therefore it must read until EOF. This is not compatible with the
xl migration protocol which contains a post-migration handshake and
therefore cannot close the socket on the sending end.
What is required is an explicit length field for the save record,
which the "RemusDeviceModelState"-style HVM tail includes.
Rather than overload the "RemusDeviceModelState" name for a non-Remus
use case (on off chance that they need to diverge for some reason in
the future) introduce a third style called "DeviceModelRecord0002"
which is identical to current "RemusDeviceModelState"-style.
Hopefully the inclusion of a number here will allow easier extension
in the future without needing to come up with increasingly less
helpful names!
