Make it possible for the user to specify, with the boot
time parameter rcu-idle-timer-period-ms, how frequently
a CPU that went idle with pending RCU callbacks should be
woken up to check if the grace period ended.
Typical values (i.e., some of the values used by Linux as
the tick frequency) are 10, 4 or 1 ms. Default valus (used
when this parameter is not specified) is 10ms. Maximum is
100ms.

Instead of using the same global resource limits of grant tables (max.
number of grant frames, max. number of maptrack frames) for all domains
make these limits per domain. Set those per-domain limits in
grant_table_set_limits(). The global settings are serving as an upper
boundary now which must not be exceeded by a per-domain value. The
default of max_grant_frames is set to the maximum default xl will use.
While updating the semantics of the boot parameters remove the
documentation of the no longer existing gnttab_max_nr_frames and
correct the default gnttab_max_maptrack_frames uses.

The new guest type is introduced to the libxl IDL. libxl__domain_make
is also modified to save the guest type, and libxl__domain_type is
expanded to fetch that information when detecting guest type.
This is required because the hypervisor only differentiates between PV
and HVM guests, so libxl needs some extra information in order to
differentiate between a HVM and a PVH guest.
The new PVH guest type and its options are documented on the xl.cfg
man page.

The new firmware option aims to provide a coherent way to set the
firmware for the different kind of guests Xen supports.
For PV guests the available firmwares are pvgrub{32|64}, and for HVM
the following are supported: bios, uefi, seabios, rombios and ovmf.
Note that uefi maps to ovmf, and bios maps to the default firmware for
each device model.

Add xl.conf config items for default values of grant limits:
max_grant_frames will set the default for the maximum number of grant
frames for a domain which will take effect if the domain's config file
doesn't specify a value. If max_grant_frames isn't set in xl.conf it
will default to 32 for hosts with all memory below 16TB and to 64 for
hosts with memory above 16TB.
max_maptrack_frames will set the default for the maximum number of
maptrack frames for a domain. If max_maptrack_frames isn't set in
xl.conf it will default to 0, as normally only backend domains need
maptrack frames.

The way the lock is currently being used in get_maptrack_handle(), it
protects only the maptrack limit: The function acts on current's list
only, so races on list accesses are impossible even without the lock.
Otoh list access races are possible between __get_maptrack_handle() and
put_maptrack_handle(), due to the invocation of the former for other
than current from steal_maptrack_handle(). Introduce a per-vCPU lock
for list accesses to become race free again. This lock will be
uncontended except when it becomes necessary to take the steal path,
i.e. in the common case there should be no meaningful performance
impact.
When in get_maptrack_handle adds a stolen entry to a fresh, empty,
freelist, we think that there is probably no concurrency. However,
this is not a fast path and adding the locking there makes the code
clearly correct.
Also, while we are here: the stolen maptrack_entry's tail pointer was
not properly set. Set it.
This is CVE-2017-12136 / XSA-228.

Running "make uninstall" does not remove all installed files, a
situation which might cause link related issues if xen is re-installed
in a different location.
In order to make uninstall correctly remove the files it is best
the process should be done recursively by mirroring each "install"
target with an "uninstall" who removes the installed files.
An exception to this rule is uninstalling the files produced by
"qemu-xen-dir-remote" and "qemu-xen-traditional-dir", which are external
to the project. These projects do not implement an "uninstall" target so
the files have to be removed manually.
