Update add_to_bridge shell function to read the vlan parameter from
xenstore and set the bridge VLAN configuration for the VID.
Add additional helper functions to parse the vlan specification,
which consists of one or more of the following:
a) single VLAN (e.g. 10).
b) contiguous range of VLANs (e.g. 10-15).
c) discontiguous range with base, increment and count
(e.g. 100+10x9 which gives VLAN IDs 100, 110, ... 190).
A single VLAN can be suffixed with "p" to indicate the PVID, or
"u" to indicate untagged. A range of VLANs can be suffixed with
"u" to indicate untagged. A complex example would be:
vlan=1p/10-15/20-25u
This capability requires the iproute2 bridge command to be
installed. An error will be generated if the vlan parameter is
set and the bridge command is not available.

RFC 791 sets the minimum acceptable mtu to 68:
Every internet module must be able to forward a datagram of 68
octets without further fragmentation. This is because an internet
header may be up to 60 octets, and the minimum fragment is 8 octets.
In the Linux kernel source:
include/net/ip.h:#define IPV4_MIN_MTU 68 /* RFC 791 */
While there is no reason to expect a value <68 to be read from xenstore or
from the bridge make the value test require a number >= this minimum.

The set_mtu() function of xen-network-common.sh currently has this code:
if [ ${type_if} = vif ]
then
local dev_=${dev#vif}
local domid=${dev_%.*}
local devid=${dev_#*.}
local FRONTEND_PATH="/local/domain/$domid/device/vif/$devid"
xenstore_write "$FRONTEND_PATH/mtu" ${mtu}
fi
This works fine if the device has its default name but if the xen config
defines the vifname parameter the FRONTEND_PATH is incorrectly constructed.
Learn the frontend path by reading the appropriate value from the backend.
Also change use of `...` to $(...) for a consistent style in the script.

...and also inform the frontend.
The set_mtu() function in xen-network-common.sh currently sets the backend
vif MTU to match that of the bridge.
A prior patch added code into libxl such that a tools-configured 'mtu' value
may be present in the xenstore backend area. If the node is present in
xenstore then it should be authoritative. Hence set_mtu() is modified to only
read the MTU of the bridge if it is not present.
The function is also modified to write whatever value it applies to the
backend vif into the xenstore frontend area where is may then be used to
configure the frontend network stack.
NOTE: There is also a small modification replacing '$mtu' with '${mtu}'
for style consistency.

even if the device has already been added to the bridge.

Newer distros like CentOS 8 do not have brctl available. As such, we
can't use it to configure networking anymore.
This patch will fall back to 'ip' or 'bridge' commands if brctl is not
available in the working PATH.
This would be a likely backport candidate to any version expected to be
built on CentOS 8 etc.

With changeset 22885 support was added for setting the MTU in the vif-bridge
script for when a vif interface was set to 'online'. The was not done for the
'add' operation. The 'add' operation was added to the script for when tap
devices were specified (c/s 21944). With the setting of the MTU for the
'online' case was there a reason for omitting the 'add'?
This patch sets the MTU for both 'online' and 'add' in the vif-bridge script.

Most versions of netback do not support setting the MAC address. This
means that c/s 937488219719 causes the hotplug script to break for
vifs, even as it fixes the bridge-wrong-MAC-address problem for tap
devices (used for emulated nics).
The mac-setting operation is not necessary for vifs since they are
hardcoded to fe:ff* anyway.
As a band-aid, add "|| true" to the call to ip link, so that this
error does not cause the hotplug operation to fail. There will still
be an error message printed until we can fix this better.

If a tap device is not given an explicit MAC address it will generate
one randomly.
The behaviour of the Linux bridge is to pickup the lowest MAC address
of any port for use in for ARP, STP etc. If the tap device's randomly
generated MAC address happens to be the lowest then this can cause all
manner of strange networking glitches in both domain 0 and guests when
the bridge suddenly takes over from the previously used MAC address.
We choose FE:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF as it the numerically largest
non-broadcast address. This ensures that the physical NIC device's
port will have the lowest MAC address and therefore be the one picked
up by the bridge.
vif devices already have a MAC address of FE:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF set by
netback already but there is no harm in forcing it a second time in
the hotplug script.
tap devices are added by the "add" event and therefore we should call
setup_bridge_port then as well as for "online" which is caused by vif
devices.
