xm dump-core [-L|--live][-C| --crash] <domID> [output path]
-L| --live Live dump:
By default, xm dump does an xm pause, unpause before and
after taking the dump, respectively. This option disables
the pause/unpause and simply takes the dump.
-C :| --crash crash dump:
This executes an xm destroy after the dump file is complete.
The output path is optional, and if it is not specified, the path will be
/var/xen/dump/<domU name>.<domU ID>.core
This command uses the existant dumpCore(), which has been used for
coredump when a domU crashed.

is not interpreted by the DM, it actually causes the DM to hang if
passed. Future device model support for the vTPM will read parameters
from the xenstore and won't need the command line parameter(s).
The patch includes a small change to the debugging output for the vTPM
module.

(error conditions) and addresses minor issues that 'pycheck' complains
about. It is tested with xm-test and by manually running the xm
commands. It also handles the return case (reported by Masaki Kanno)
that was missed in the originally patch.

call to determine the initial reservation separately from the amount of
memory to be freed up by ballooning -- when using QEMU, we lose 8 MiB to video
RAM, which must be accounted for when ballooning, but _not_ accounted for
within the domain's memory allocation.
Tidy this code up using the new architecture-specific interface arrangement.

Driver changes: Make backend drivers check it when entering Closed
state, only unregister devices when the "online" node is either "0" or
not present. The later maintains backward compatibility.
Tools changes: Update "online" node when creating and hot-unplugging
devices.
Background: When kexec'ing a new kernel, the old kernel's frontend
driver will shutdown, but the backend device should *NOT* disappear
due to that, so the new kernel instance can reconnect.

The completion of a VM reboot is detected by observing that
its restart sequence counter changes.

be under /var/log/xen instead of under /var/log directly. This has
the advantage of cleaning things up a little and also can make it
easier to restrict the permissions needed by xend.

1. platform_op -- used by dom0 kernel to perform actions on the
hardware platform (e.g., MTRR access, microcode update, platform
quirks, ...)
2. domctl -- used by management tools to control a specified domain
3. sysctl -- used by management tools for system-wide actions
Benefits include more sensible factoring of actions to
hypercalls. Also allows tool compatibility to be tracked separately
from the dom0 kernel. The assumption is that it will be easier to
replace libxenctrl, libxenguest and Xen as a matched set if the
dom0 kernel does not need to be replaced too (e.g., because that
would require vendor revalidation).
From here on we hope to maintain dom0 kernel compatibility. This
promise is not extended to tool compatibility beyond the existing
guarantee that compatibility will not be broken within a three-level
stable release [3.0.2, 3.0.3, etc.].

cc_compile_domain : build.redhat.com
cc_compile_date : Tue Jul 11 22:50:42 EDT 2006
xend_config_format : 2
It will also appear in the SEXPR returned when doing a GET on the
/xend/node path in XenD's HTTP service:
(node
(system Linux)
(host 10.13.4.252)
(release 2.6.17-1.2157_FC5xen0)

(cc_compile_domain build.redhat.com)
(cc_compile_date 'Tue Jul 11 22:50:42 EDT 2006')
(xend_config_format 2)
)
The patch sets the format to value '2' to indicate that we're on the version
with the new style HVM configuration for CDROM devices. The old style having
implicitly been version '1'.

Apply the domain cpumask to each vcpu rather than mapping vcpus to
cpus in the list. This is more inline with the comments for the
cpus parameter and also allows the credit scheduler to balance
vcpus within the domain cpumask.

There are various reasons it should be daemonized, but the particular
problem we hit was that YaST called "xm create" and waited on output on
stdout/stderr; xm then spawned vncviewer (which never closed its
inherited stdout and stderr); xm then would exit, but YaST still had
open file descriptors, and therefore waited forever. It would be
possible to work around in YaST, but it seemed cleaner to daemonize
vncviewer.
