Andrew Warfield 1c0ee21d44 [BLKTAP] have udev create the device for blktap
This patch makes blktap Do The Right Thing(TM). It allows udev to
create the /dev/xen/blktap[0-9] devices.

It creates a sysfs class called "xen". This part may later be placed
someplace else, but currently blktap is the only user so it is placed in
the blktap code.

When blktap is initialized, a blktap0 sysfs class device is made. The
other devices blktapX (X > 0) are made when the BLKTAP_IOCTL_NEWINTF
ioctl is called. This way we don't flood the sysfs and /dev/xen with
unnecessary devices.

I added a rule in the xen-backend.rules to allow for udev to create the
blktap devices.

With this, we can really remove the code to search and create the
/dev/xen/blktap[0-9]*, but I'll leave it in for now. With the use of
udev, we really should remove that code as well as the code for creating
the evtchn device. udev works for both of these now. But that removal
will have to be in another patch.

makes it so that udev actually creates the device there

jchesterfield@dhcp92.uk.xensource.com 0da81aa1d4 Added blktap support. Includes kernel driver (enabled as CONFIG_XEN_BLKDEV_TAP=y) and userspace tools. The userspace deamon (blktapctrl) is enabled by default when xend is activated. For further information on using and configuring blktap see tools/blktap/README. 2006-07-13 10:13:26 +01:00
emellor@leeni.uk.xensource.com f32e156c0e Break out the hotplug cleanup code into xen-hotplug-cleanup. Claim the block
script's lock before doing the cleanup, to avoid a race that causes the message
"xenstore-list: could not list path backend/vbd/40" in /var/log/hotplug.log,
with a subsequent refusal to create the domain, after a domain reboot.

emellor@leeni.uk.xensource.com c0efb8dc85 Rename the commands inside the hotplug scripts to match those used by hotplug
and udev. Pass all commands through from xen-backend.agent or
xen-backend.rules rather than second-guessing the individual scripts. This
should make it easier to tear down devices cleanly, especially the dangling
vifs we are seeing at the moment.

Cope with a missing type node inside the block script, as we don't want to
resurrect a removed node by writing a hotplug error message.

Log failure of iptables command.
