Access to QMP of QEMU in Linux stubdomain is possible over vchan
connection. Handle the actual vchan connection in a separate process
(vchan-socket-proxy). This simplified integration with QMP (already
quite complex), but also allows preliminary filtering of (potentially
malicious) QMP input.
Since only one client can be connected to vchan server at the same time
and it is not enforced by the libxenvchan itself, additional client-side
locking is needed. It is implicitly implemented by vchan-socket-proxy,
as it handle only one connection at a time. Note that qemu supports only
one simultaneous client on a control socket anyway (but in UNIX socket
case, it enforce it server-side), so it doesn't add any extra
limitation.
libxl qmp client code already has locking to handle concurrent access
attempts to the same qemu qmp interface.

Squash in changes of regenerated autotools files.
Kill the vchan-socket-proxy so we don't leak the daemonized processes.
libxl__stubdomain_is_linux_running() works against the guest_domid, but
the xenstore path is beneath the stubdomain. This leads to the use of
libxl_is_stubdom in addition to libxl__stubdomain_is_linux_running() so
that the stubdomain calls kill for the qmp-proxy.
Also call libxl__qmp_cleanup() to remove the unix sockets used by
vchan-socket-proxy. vchan-socket-proxy only creates qmp-libxl-$domid,
and libxl__qmp_cleanup removes that as well as qmp-libxenstat-$domid.
However, it tolerates ENOENT, and a stray qmp-libxenstat-$domid should
not exist.

The pvshim can only be built 64-bit because the hypervisor is only
64-bit nowadays. The hypervisor build supports XEN_COMPILE_ARCH and
XEN_TARGET_ARCH which override the information from uname. The pvshim
build runs out of the tools/ directory but calls the hypervisor build
system.
If one runs in a Linux 32-bit userland with a 64-bit kernel, one used
to be able to set XEN_COMPILE_ARCH. But nowadays this does not work.
configure sees the target cpu as 64-bit and tries to build pvshim.
The build prints
echo "*** Xen x86/32 target no longer supported!"
and doesn't build anything. Then the subsequent Makefiles try to
install the non-built pieces.
Fix this anomaly by causing configure to honour the Xen hypervisor way
of setting the target architecture.
In principle this user behaviour is not handled quite right, because
configure will still see 64-bit and so all the autoconf-based
architecture testing will see 64-bit rather than 32-bit x86. But the
tools are in fact generally quite portable: this particular location
in configure{.ac,} is the only place in tools/ where 64-bit x86 is
treated differently from 32-bit x86, so the fix is sufficient and
correct for this use case.
It remains the case that XEN_COMPILE_ARCH or XEN_TARGET_ARCH to a
non-x86 architecture, when configure thinks things are x86, or vice
versa, will not work right.
(This is a bugfix to 8845155c83
pvshim: make PV shim build selectable from configure
which inadvertantly deleted the logic to only build the shim for
XEN_TARGET_ARCH != x86_32.)
I have rerun autogen.sh, so this patch contains the fix to configure

./configure takes a PYTHON=... argument. You can use this to specify

absolute path.
Fix this. The new logic is:
* if not set, default to `python'
* if not absolute, look it up with type -p
* split into directory and executable name
The results in config/Tools.mk (which contains @PYTHON@ and
@PYTHONPATH@) are identical for both
./configure
./configure PYTHON=/usr/bin/python
so I assert this has no functional change except that now you can say
./configure PYTHON=python
In particular you can now say
./configure PYTHON=python2
./configure PYTHON=python3
The latter is useful if you want python3 (which should probably be the
default, but does not work right now). The former is useful if you
want python2 but your distro has foolishly made "python" refer to
python3.

9pfs support has been a documented feature since Xen 4.9, but QEMU will
not be built with backend support unless VirtFS is enabled, which is

not obvious to anyone intending to use 9pfs.
This patch adds an 'enable-9pfs' option to configure which, if specified,
will cause '--enable-virtfs' to be passed to QEMU's configure. This will
cause the dependency on libcap and libattr to be called out if the packages
are not in installed.
For completeness, specifying 'disable-9pfs' will cause '--disable-virtfs' to
be passed to QEMU's confgure and not specifying an option will keep the
previous behaviour of predicating VirtFS on whether the libcap and libattr

currently, it is only supplied in the form of a SysV init script, which
systemd users run through a backward compatiblity wrapper automatically

The xendriverdomain service is only relevant to domU, but should not run

which evaluates to true in domU and (since systemd version 214, released

After that changeset, if the global build has -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE

There should be only one place to specify whether to build debug or

When the property "clock-frequency" is present in the DT timer node, it
means that the bootloader/firmware didn't correctly configure the
CNTFRQ/CNTFRQ_EL0 on each processor.
The best solution would be to fix the offending firmware/bootloader,
although it may not always be possible to modify and re-flash it.
As it's not possible to trap the register CNTFRQ/CNTFRQ_EL0, we have
to extend xen_arch_domainconfig to provide the timer frequency to the
toolstack when the property "clock-frequency" is present to the host DT
timer node. Then, a property "clock-frequency" will be created in the guest
DT timer node if the value is not 0.
We could have set the property in the guest DT no matter if the property
is present in the host DT. Although, we still want to let the guest
using CNTFRQ in normal case. After all, the property "clock-frequency"
is just a workaround for buggy firmware.

The default behaviour for ld (my note: before version 2.22) allows
users to 'indirectly' link to required objects/libraries through

also be dangerous because it makes your program's dependencies tied
to the dependencies of other objects. If those objects ever change
