Add some helpers for handling filenames which might need different

- expansion of relative filenames (those are not really defined today,

- expansion of xenstore_daemon_rundir() (used e.g. for saving the state

Juergen Gross 4287a71f9b tools/xl: support new 9pfs backend xen_9pfsd
Add support for the new 9pfs backend "xen_9pfsd". For this backend type
the tag defaults to "Xen" and the host side path to
"/var/log/xen/guests/<dom-name>".

Do most of the default settings in libxl. Unfortunately the default
path can't easily be set in libxl, as the domain name isn't available

Settings the defaults in libxl requires to move the sanity checking

Juergen Gross ab5a6b5986 tools/libs/light: add backend type for 9pfs PV devices
Make the backend type of 9pfs PV devices configurable. The default is
"qemu" with the related Xenstore backend-side directory being "9pfs".

Add another type "xen_9pfsd" with the related Xenstore backend-side
directory "xen_9pfs".

As additional security features it is possible to specify:
- "max-space" for limiting the maximum space consumed on the filesystem
  in MBs
- "max-files" for limiting the maximum number of files in the
  filesystem
- "max-open-files" for limiting the maximum number of concurrent open
  files

For convenience "auto-delete" is available to let the backend delete the
oldest file of the guest in case otherwise "max-space" or "max-files"
would be violated.

The xen-9pfsd daemon will be started by libxenlight automatically when
the first "xen_9pfs" device is being created.

Juergen Gross 7809132b1a tools/xen-9pfsd: add 9pfs response generation support
Add support for generation a 9pfs protocol response via a format based
approach.

Strings are stored in a per device string buffer and they are
referenced via their offset in this buffer. This allows to avoid
having to dynamically allocate memory for each single string.

As a first user of the response handling add a generic p9_error()
function which will be used to return any error to the client.

Add all format parsing variants in order to avoid additional code churn
later when adding the users of those variants. Prepare a special case
for the "read" case already (format character 'D'): in order to avoid
adding another buffer for read data support doing the read I/O directly
into the response buffer.

read_node() is the only caller of db_fetch() which isn't freeing the

has several disadvantages:

- It is using a fixed sized hash table, resulting in high memory
overhead for small installations with only very few VMs, and a rather
large performance hit for systems with lots of VMs due to many
  collisions.
The hash table size today is 7919 entries. This means that e.g. in
case of a simple desktop use case with 2 or 3 VMs probably far less
than 10% of the entries will be used (assuming roughly 100 nodes per
VM). OTOH a setup on a large server with 500 VMs would result in
heavy conflicts in the hash list with 5-10 nodes per hash table entry.

- TDB is using a single large memory area for storing the nodes. It
only ever increases this area and will never shrink it afterwards.
This will result in more memory usage than necessary after a peak of
  Xenstore usage.

- Xenstore is only single-threaded, while TDB is designed to be fit
for multi-threaded use cases, resulting in much higher code
  complexity than needed.

- Special use cases of Xenstore are not possible to implement with TDB
in an effective way, while an implementation of a data base tailored
for Xenstore could simplify some handling (e.g. transactions) a lot.

So drop using TDB and store the nodes directly in memory making them
easily accessible. Use a hash-based lookup mechanism for fast lookup
of nodes by their full path.

For now only replace TDB keeping the current access functions.

Juergen Gross c9a899f7f4 tools: add configure option for disabling pygrub
Add a "--disable-pygrub" option for being able to disable the build
and installation of pygrub.

There are two main reasons to do so:

- A main reason to use pygrub is to allow a PV guest to choose its
bitness (32- or 64-bit). Pygrub allows that by looking into the boot
image and to start the guest in the correct mode depending on the
kernel selected. With 32-bit PV guests being deprecated and the
possibility to even build a hypervisor without 32-bit PV support,
this use case is gone for at least some configurations.

- Pygrub is running in dom0 with root privileges. As it is operating
on guest controlled data (the boot image) and taking decisions based
on this data, there is a higher security risk. Not being possible
to use pygrub is thus a step towards a reduction of attack surface.

Default is still to build and install pygrub.

Juergen Gross 3e55f826f4 tools/xenstore: add wrapper for tdb_fetch()
Add a wrapper function for tdb_fetch taking the name of the node in
the data base as a parameter. Let it return a data pointer and the
length of the data via a length pointer provided as additional
parameter.

Move logging of the TDB access from the callers into the wrapper.

This enables to make set_tdb_key() and tdb_ctx static.
