Olaf Hering a40c3aa126 xentrace: adjust exit code for --help option
Invoking the --help option of any tool should not return with an error,
if that tool does have a documented and implemented help option.

Adjust the usage() function to exit with either error or success.
Handle the existing entry in the option table to call usage accordingly.

Adjust the getopt value for help. The char '?' is returned for unknown
options. Returning 'h' instead of '?' allows to handle --help.

Olaf Hering 2f69ef9680 tools: fix make rpmball
Commit 438c5ffa44 ("rpmball: Adjust to
new rpm, do not require --force") attempted to handle stricter
directory permissions in newer distributions.

This introduced a few issues:
- /boot used to be a constant prior commit
  6475d70005 ("use BOOT_DIR as xen.gz
install location"), since this commit the location has to be
  referenced via ${BOOT_DIR}
- it assumed the prefix and the various configurable paths match the
  glob pattern /*/*/*

Adjust the code to build a filelist on demand and filter directories
from an installed filesystem.rpm. This works on a SUSE system, and
will likely work on a RedHat based system as well.

Take the opportunity to replace the usage of $RPM_BUILD_ROOT with
%buildroot, and use pushd/popd pairs.

Olaf Hering 42abf5b9c5 tools: drop bogus and obsolete ptyfuncs.m4
According to openpty(3) it is required to include <pty.h> to get the
prototypes for openpty() and login_tty(). But this is not what the
function AX_CHECK_PTYFUNCS actually does. It makes no attempt to include
the required header.

The two source files which call openpty() and login_tty() already contain
the conditionals to include the required header.

Remove the bogus m4 file to fix build with clang, which complains about
calls to undeclared functions.

Remove usage of INCLUDE_LIBUTIL_H in libxl_bootloader.c, it is already

Olaf Hering 9d628ff6cc tools: Fix install.sh for systemd
On a fedora system, if you run `sudo sh install.sh` you break your
system. The installation clobbers /var/run, a symlink to /run.
A subsequent boot fails when /var/run and /run are different since
accesses through /var/run can't find items that now only exist in /run
and vice-versa.

Skip populating /var/run/xen during make install.
The directory is already created by some scripts. Adjust all remaining
scripts to create XEN_RUN_DIR at runtime.

Use the shell variable XEN_RUN_DIR instead of hardcoded paths.

XEN_RUN_STORED is covered by XEN_RUN_DIR because xenstored is usually
started afterwards.

Olaf Hering 687121f8a0 xl: optionally print timestamps when running xl commands
Add a global option "-T" to xl to enable timestamps in the output from
libxl and libxc. This is most useful with long running commands such
as "migrate".

During 'xl -v.. migrate domU host' a large amount of debug is generated.
It is difficult to map each line to the sending and receiving side.
Also the time spent for migration is not reported.

With 'xl -T migrate domU host' both sides will print timestamps and
also the pid of the invoked xl process to make it more obvious which
side produced a given log line.

Note: depending on the command, xl itself also produces other output
which does not go through libxentoollog. As a result such output will
not have timestamps prepended.

This change adds also the missing "-t" flag to "xl help" output.

Olaf Hering 899433f149 libxl: fix migration of PV and PVH domUs with and without qemu
If a domU has a qemu-xen instance attached, it is required to call qemus
"xen-save-devices-state" method. Without it, the receiving side of a PV or
PVH migration may be unable to lock the image:

xen be: qdisk-51712: xen be: qdisk-51712: error: Failed to get "write" lock
error: Failed to get "write" lock
xen be: qdisk-51712: xen be: qdisk-51712: initialise() failed
initialise() failed

To fix this bug, libxl__domain_suspend_device_model() and
libxl__domain_resume_device_model() have to be called not only for HVM,
but also if the active device_model is QEMU_XEN.

Unfortunately, libxl__domain_build_info_setdefault() used to hardcode
b_info->device_model_version to QEMU_XEN if it does not know it any
better. As a result libxl__device_model_version_running() will return
incorrect values. This breaks domUs without a device_model.
libxl__qmp_stop() would wait 10 seconds in qmp_open() for a qemu that
will never appear. During this long timeframe the domU remains in state
paused on the sending side. As a result network connections may be
dropped. Once this bug is fixed as well, by just removing the assumption
that every domU has a QEMU_XEN, there is no code to actually initialise
b_info->device_model_version.

There is a helper function libxl__need_xenpv_qemu(), which is used in
various places to decide if a device_model has to be spawned. This
function can not be used as is, just to fill device_model_version,
because store_libxl_entry() was already called earlier.

Introduce LIBXL_DEVICE_MODEL_VERSION_NONE for PV and PVH that have no
need for a device_model to make the state explicit. Indicate this new
state via LIBXL_HAVE macro in libxl.h.

Olaf Hering 3802ecbaa9 libxl: add helper function to set device_model_version
An upcoming change will set the value of device_model_version properly
also for the non-HVM case.

Move existing code to new function libxl__domain_set_device_model.
Move also initialization for device_model_stubdomain to that function.
Make sure libxl__domain_build_info_setdefault is called with
device_model_version set.

Update libxl__spawn_stub_dm() and initiate_domain_create() to call the
new function prior libxl__domain_build_info_setdefault() because
device_mode_version is expected to be initialzed.
libxl_domain_need_memory() needs no update because it does not have a
d_config available anyway, and the callers provide a populated b_info.

The upcoming change needs a full libxl_domain_config, and the existing
libxl__domain_build_info_setdefault has just a libxl_domain_build_info
to work with.

Olaf Hering e0414f4223 xl: show full value of cpu_khz in xl info output
The exact value of cpu_khz can only be obtained via 'xl dmesg', and
therefore can be lost after some time. 'xl info' truncates the value to
full MHz. Adjust the output to show the full khz value.
This helps the host admin to track how a host has calibrated itself. The
value of cpu_khz is used during live migration for the decision if
access to TSC should be emualted.

Commit eb5277a30e ("bitkeeper revision 1.959.1.4
(40d04a87acOb29u-5Y5OxMhHvP2x9g)" gives no hint why cpu_mhz instead of
cpu_khz was chosen.
