Andrew Cooper d9fe459ffa x86/cpu-policy: Infrastructure for MSR_ARCH_CAPS
Bits through 24 are already defined, meaning that we're not far off needing
the second word. Put both in right away.

As both halves are present now, the arch_caps field is full width. Adjust the
unit test, which notices.

The bool bitfield names in the arch_caps union are unused, and somewhat out of
date. They'll shortly be automatically generated.

Add CPUID and MSR prefixes to the ./xen-cpuid verbose output, now that there
are a mix of the two.

Jan Beulich 842acaa743 x86emul: support AVX-VNNI-INT8
These are close relatives of the AVX-VNNI ISA extension. Since the insns
here and in particular their memory access patterns follow the usual
scheme (and especially the byte variants of AVX-VNNI), I didn't think it
was necessary to add a contrived test specifically for them.

While making the addition also re-wire AVX-VNNI's handling to
simd_0f_ymm: There's no reason to check the AVX feature alongside the
one actually of interest (there are a few features where two checks are
actually necessary, e.g. GFNI+AVX, but this isn't the case here).

Jan Beulich 07b167d17e x86emul: support WRMSRNS
This insn differs from WRMSR solely in the lack of serialization. Hence
the code used there can simply be used here as well, plus a feature
check of course. As there's no other infrastructure needed beyond
permitting the insn for PV privileged-op emulation (in particular no
separate new VMEXIT) we can expose the insn to guests right away.

Don't expose the feature to PV guests, as the involved #UD is
serializing anyway.

With all the complicated callers of x86_cpu_policies_are_compatible() updated

Andrew Cooper c9985233ca x86: Merge xc_cpu_policy's cpuid and msr objects
Right now, they're the same underlying type, containing disjoint information.

Use a single object instead. Also take the opportunity to rename 'entries' to
'msrs' which is more descriptive, and more in line with nr_msrs being the
count of MSR entries in the API.

test-tsx uses xg_private.h to access the internals of xc_cpu_policy, so needs
updating at the same time. Take the opportunity to improve the code clarity
by passing a cpu_policy rather than an xc_cpu_policy into some functions.

Andrew Cooper bfa2e6a246 x86/emul: Fix test harness build with blk.c moved out of x86_emulate.c
Trying to build the test harness fails with:

  x86_emulate/blk.c: In function 'x86_emul_blk':
  x86_emulate/blk.c:74:15: error: expected ':' or ')' before 'ASM_FLAG_OUT'
     74 | ASM_FLAG_OUT(, "; setz %[zf]")
        | ^~~~~~~~~~~~

This is because ASM_FLAG_OUT() is still local to x86_emulate.c. Move it into

CET Indirect Branch Tracking is a hardware feature designed to provide
forward-edge control flow integrity, protecting against jump/call oriented

IBT requires the placement of endbr{32,64} instructions at the target of every
indirect call/jmp, and every entrypoint.

However, the default -fcf-protection=branch places an endbr{32,64} on every
function which far more than necessary, and reduces the quantity of protection
afforded. Therefore, we use manual placement using the cf_check attribute.

It is necessary to check for both compiler and assembler support, as the

Jan Beulich 71760cf0fe x86emul: work around gcc11 bug in SIMD tests
Gcc11 looks to have trouble with conditional expressions used with
vector operands: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=104497.
Replace two instances causing SEGV there in certain cases.

Andrew Cooper 4b45c4faa8 tests/tsx: Extend test-tsx to check MSR_MCU_OPT_CTRL
This MSR needs to be identical across the system for TSX to have identical
behaviour everywhere. Furthermore, its CPUID bit (SRBDS_CTRL) shouldn't be
visible to guests.

Anthony PERARD 725381a5ea xen: move include/asm-* to arch/*/include/asm
This avoid the need to create the symbolic link "include/asm".

Whenever a comment refer to an "asm" headers, this patch avoid
spelling the arch when not needed to avoid some code churn.

One unrelated change is to sort entries in MAINTAINERS for "INTEL(R)
VT FOR X86 (VT-X)"

Jan Beulich 7b99e72585 x86emul: drop "seg" parameter from insn_fetch() hook
This is specified (and asserted for in a number of places) to always be
CS. Passing this as an argument in various places is therefore
pointless. The price to pay is two simple new functions, with the
benefit of the PTWR case now gaining a more appropriate error code.

Andrew Cooper 0e6c87b93e Revert "x86/CPUID: shrink max_{,sub}leaf fields according to actual leaf contents"
OSSTest has identified a 3rd regression caused by this change. Migration
between Xen 4.15 and 4.16 on the nocera pair of machines (AMD Opteron 4133)
fails with:

xc: error: Failed to set CPUID policy: leaf 00000000, subleaf ffffffff, msr ffffffff (22 = Invalid argument): Internal error
xc: error: Restore failed (22 = Invalid argument): Internal error

which is a safety check to prevent resuming the guest when the CPUID data has
been truncated. The problem is caused by shrinking of the max policies, which
is an ABI that needs handling compatibly between different versions of Xen.

Furthermore, shrinking of the default policies also breaks things in some
cases, because certain cpuid= settings in a VM config file which used to work
will now be refused. Also external toolstacks that attempt to set the CPUID
policy from a featureset might now see some filled leaves not reachable due to
the shrinking done to the default domain policy before applying the
featureset.

This reverts commit 540d911c28, as well as the
partial fix attempt in 81da2b544c (which added
one new case where cpuid= settings might not apply correctly) and restores the
same behaviour as Xen 4.15.

Roger Pau Monné 306e0afbb3 test/tsx: set grant version for created domains
Set the grant table version for the created domains to use version 1,
as such tests domains don't require the usage of the grant table at
all. A TODO note is added to switch those dummy domains to not have a
grant table at all when possible. Without setting the grant version
the domains for the tests cannot be created.
