Declarations of xc_dom_console_init() and
xc_dom_console_set_disconnected() in libxenguest.h don't match their
implementation in the library.
Under arm32, xen_pfn_t is a uint64_t and wider than unsigned long.
Use xen_pfn_t for GFNs in the library to fix that. At the same time
change the parameter name of the implementation to console_gfn,
matching the interface declaration in the header and reality (it is
a GFN, not a PFN).

On the first memory iteration the sender is currently sending memory

Decompressing the kernel is necessary to inspect the ELF notes, but the
dombuilder will gunzip() secondary modules too. Specifically gunzip(), no
other decompression algorithms.
This may have been necessary in the dim and distant past, but it is broken
today. Linux specifically supports concatenating CPIO fragments of differing
compressions, and any attempt to interpret it with a single algorithm may
corrupt later parts.
This was an unexpected discovery while trying to test Xen's gunzip()
logic (Xen as a PVH guest, with a gzipped XTF kernel as dom0).
Interpreting secondary modules should be left as an exercise to the guest.
This reduces work done in dom0.

xc_cpuid_apply_policy() provides compatibility for migration of a pre-4.14 VM
where no CPUID data was provided in the stream.
It guesses the various max-leaf limits, based on what was true at the time of
writing, but this was not correctly adapted when speculative security issues
forced the advertisement of new feature bits. Of note are:
* LFENCE-DISPATCH, in leaf 0x80000021.eax
* BHI-CTRL, in leaf 0x7[2].edx
In both cases, a VM booted on a security-patched Xen 4.13, and then migrated
on to any newer version of Xen on the same or compatible hardware would have
these features stripped back because Xen is still editing the cpu-policy for
sanity behind the back of the toolstack.
For VMs using BHI_DIS_S to mitigate Native-BHI, this resulted in a failure to
restore the guests MSR_SPEC_CTRL setting:

xc_dom_alloc_segment() is passed a size in bytes, calculates a size in pages
from it, then fills in the new segment information with a bytes value
re-calculated from the number of pages.
This causes the module information given to the guest (MB, or PVH) to have
incorrect sizes; specifically, sizes rounded up to the next page.
This in turn is problematic for Xen. When Xen finds a gzipped module, it
peeks at the end metadata to judge the decompressed size, which is a -4
backreference from the reported end of the module.

The procedure used to customize the domain CPU policy is broken when
toolstack tries to set leaves (with subleaves) that the hypervisor didn't
need to serialise (i.e: because they where empty subleaves).
During typical domain creation xg does the following:
1. Probe Xen for max #leaves that a policy may have
2. Allocate memory for that many leaves
3. Tell the hypervisor to dump the policy in the allocated buffer
4. Deserialise it
5. Modify it
6. Reserialise it
7. Send it back to Xen
The problem is that (3) overrides nr_leaves, which then makes (6) fail in
the case where (5) has added subleaves that Xen understands but didn't need
to serialize on (3).
The fix uses an opaque CPU policy object so we can (a) avoid probing Xen
for sizes, and (b) trivially have knowledge of the actual size of the
buffer.

that version-script became out-of-date as soon as Xen's version
changes and make as no way to regenerate the version-script on

For unstable libs, we only needs the symver to be different from a
previous release of Xen. There's an option "--default-symver" which
allow to use the soname as symver and as the soname have the Xen
release version, it will be different for every release. With
--default-symver we don't need to generate a version-script.
But we also need to know if there's already an existing version script
, for that we introduce $(version-script) to be used to point to the
path of the existing script. (Guessing if a version script exist for a
stable library with for example $(wildcard) won't work as a file will
exist when building the library without this patch.)
