Jan Beulich fe49938f21 libxl: avoid golang building without CONFIG_GOLANG=y
While this doesn't address the real problem I've run into (attempting to
update r/o source files), not recursing into tools/golang/xenlight/ is
enough to fix the build for me for the moment. I don't currently see why
60db5da62a ("libxl: Generate golang bindings in libxl Makefile") found
it necessary to invoke this build step unconditionally.

These files are in tree so that people can build (including from git)
without needing less-than-a-decade-old flex and bison.

We should update them periodically. Debian buster has been Debian
stable for a while. Our CI is running buster.

There should be no significant functional change; it's possible that
there are bugfixes but I have not reviewed the changes. I *have*
checked that the flex I am using has the fix for CVE-2016-6354.

Andrew Cooper 057012d289 tools/libx[cl]: Plumb bool restore down into xc_cpuid_apply_policy()
In order to safely disable some features by default, without breaking
migration from 4.13 or older, the CPUID logic needs to distinguish the two
cases.

Andrew Cooper 585c7f4317 tools/libx[cl]: Move processing loop down into xc_cpuid_set()
Currently, libxl__cpuid_legacy() passes each element of the policy list to
xc_cpuid_set() individually. This is wasteful both in terms of the number of
hypercalls made, and the quantity of repeated merging/auditing work performed
by Xen.

Move the loop processing down into xc_cpuid_set(), which allows us to do one
set of hypercalls, rather than one per list entry.

In xc_cpuid_set(), obtain the full host, guest max and current policies to
begin with, and loop over the xend array, processing one leaf at a time.
Replace the linear search with a binary search, seeing as the serialised
leaves are sorted.

No change in behaviour from the guests point of view.

Andrew Cooper 700738bf6a tools/libx[cl]: Introduce struct xc_xend_cpuid for xc_cpuid_set()
In order to combine the functionality of xc_cpuid_set() with
xc_cpuid_apply_policy(), arrange to pass the data in a single contained
struct, rather than two arrays.

libxl__cpuid_policy is the ideal structure to use, but that would introduce a
reverse dependency between libxc and libxl. Introduce xc_xend_cpuid (with a
transparent union to provide more useful names for the inputs), and use this
structure in libxl.

The public API has libxl_cpuid_policy as an opaque type referencing
libxl__cpuid_policy. Drop the inappropriate comment about its internals, and
use xc_xend_cpuid as a differently named opaque backing object. Users of both
libxl and libxc are not permitted to look at the internals.

Andrew Cooper b91825f628 tools/libxc: Drop config_transformed parameter from xc_cpuid_set()
libxl is now the sole caller of xc_cpuid_set(). The config_transformed output
is ignored, and this patch trivially highlights the resulting memory leak.

"transformed" config is now properly forwarded on migrate as part of the
general VM state, so delete the transformation logic completely, rather than
trying to adjust just libxl to avoid leaking memory.

Andrew Cooper 63350b3fda tools/libx[cl]: Plumb 'missing' through static_data_done() up into libxl
Pre Xen-4.14 streams will not contain any CPUID/MSR information. There is
nothing libxc can do about this, and will have to rely on the higher level
toolstack to provide backwards compatibility.

To facilitate this, extend the static_data_done() callback, highlighting the
missing information, and modify libxl to use it. At the libxc level, this
requires an arch-specific hook which, for now, always reports CPUID and MSR as
missing. This will be adjusted in a later change.

No overall functional change - this is just plumbing.

George Dunlap 60db5da62a libxl: Generate golang bindings in libxl Makefile
The generated golang bindings (types.gen.go and helpers.gen.go) are
left checked in so that they can be fetched from xenbits using the
golang tooling. This means that they must be updated whenever
libxl_types.idl (or other dependencies) are updated. However, the
golang bindings are only built optionally; we can't assume that anyone
updating libxl_types.idl will also descend into the tools/golang tree
to re-generate the bindings.

Fix this by re-generating the golang bindings from the libxl Makefile
when the IDL dependencies are updated, so that anyone who updates
libxl_types.idl will also end up updating the golang generated files
as well.

 - Make a variable for the generated files, and a target in
xenlight/Makefile which will only re-generate the files.

 - Add a target in libxl/Makefile to call external idl generation
   targets (currently only golang).

For ease of testing, also add a specific target in libxl/Makefile just
to check and update files generated from the IDL.

This does mean that there are two potential paths for generating the
files during a parallel build; but that shouldn't be an issue, since
tools/golang/xenlight should never be built until after tools/libxl
has completed building anyway.

Marek Marczykowski-Górecki ab9ce23f5a libxl: require qemu in dom0 for multiple stubdomain consoles
Device model stubdomains (both Mini-OS + qemu-trad and linux + qemu-xen)
are always started with at least 3 consoles: log, save, and restore.
Until xenconsoled learns how to handle multiple consoles, this is needed
for save/restore support.

For Mini-OS stubdoms, this is a bug. In practice, it works in most
cases because there is something else that triggers qemu in dom0 too:
vfb/vkb added if vnc/sdl/spice is enabled.

Additionally, Linux-based stubdomain waits for all the backends to
initialize during boot. Lack of some console backends results in
stubdomain startup timeout.

This is a temporary patch until xenconsoled will be improved.

Marek Marczykowski-Górecki 83c845033d libxl: use vchan for QMP access with Linux stubdomain
Access to QMP of QEMU in Linux stubdomain is possible over vchan
connection. Handle the actual vchan connection in a separate process
(vchan-socket-proxy). This simplified integration with QMP (already
quite complex), but also allows preliminary filtering of (potentially
malicious) QMP input.
Since only one client can be connected to vchan server at the same time
and it is not enforced by the libxenvchan itself, additional client-side
locking is needed. It is implicitly implemented by vchan-socket-proxy,
as it handle only one connection at a time. Note that qemu supports only
one simultaneous client on a control socket anyway (but in UNIX socket
case, it enforce it server-side), so it doesn't add any extra
limitation.

libxl qmp client code already has locking to handle concurrent access
attempts to the same qemu qmp interface.

Squash in changes of regenerated autotools files.

Kill the vchan-socket-proxy so we don't leak the daemonized processes.
libxl__stubdomain_is_linux_running() works against the guest_domid, but
the xenstore path is beneath the stubdomain. This leads to the use of
libxl_is_stubdom in addition to libxl__stubdomain_is_linux_running() so
that the stubdomain calls kill for the qmp-proxy.

Also call libxl__qmp_cleanup() to remove the unix sockets used by
vchan-socket-proxy. vchan-socket-proxy only creates qmp-libxl-$domid,
and libxl__qmp_cleanup removes that as well as qmp-libxenstat-$domid.
However, it tolerates ENOENT, and a stray qmp-libxenstat-$domid should
not exist.

Paul Durrant f18f8d9d63 libxl: make creation of xenstore 'suspend event channel' node optional...
... and, if it is not created, make the top level 'device' node in
xenstore writable by the guest instead.

The purpose and semantics of the suspend event channel node are explained
in xenstore-paths.pandoc [1]. It was originally introduced in xend by
commit 17636f47a4 "Teach xc_save to use event-channel-based domain
suspend if available.". Note that, because, the top-level frontend
'device' node was created writable by the guest in xend, there was no
need to explicitly create the 'suspend-event-channel' node as a writable
node.

However, libxl creates the 'device' node as read-only by the guest and so
explicit creation of the 'suspend-event-channel' node is necessary to make
it usable. This unfortunately has the side-effect of making some old
Windows PV drivers [2] cease to function. This is because they scan the top
level 'device' node, find the 'suspend' node and expect it to contain the
usual sub-nodes describing a PV frontend. When this is found not to be the
case, enumeration ceases and (because the 'suspend' node is observed before
the 'vbd' node) no system disk is enumerated. Windows will then crash with
bugcheck code 0x7B (missing system disk).

This patch adds a boolean 'xend_suspend_evtchn_compat' field into
libxl_create_info and a similarly named option in xl.cfg to set it.
If the value is true then the xenstore node is not created. Instead the
old xend behaviour of making top level device node writable by the guest is
re-instated. If the value is false (the default) then the current libxl
behaviour persists.

xenstore-paths.pandoc is also modified to say that the suspend event
channel node may not exist and, if it does not exist, then the guest may
create it. A note is also added concerning the writability of the top
level device node.

NOTE: While adding the new LIBXL_HAVE_CREATEINFO_... definition into

      implies libxl_domain_create_info is a function.

Paul Durrant 1f706eace3 libxl: create domain 'error' node in xenstore
Several PV drivers (both historically and currently [1]) report errors
by writing text into /local/domain/$DOMID/error. This patch creates the
node in libxl and makes it writable by the domain, and also adds some
text into xenstore-paths.pandoc to state what the node is for.

Documentation says "<RDM_RESERVATION_STRING> is a comma separated list

Jan Beulich 6fdb8eef87 libxl/PCI: establish per-device reserved memory policy earlier
Reserved device memory region processing as well as E820 table creation
happen earlier than the adding of (PCI) devices, yet they consume the
policy (e.g. to decide whether to add entries to the E820 table). But so
far it was only at the stage of PCI device addition that the final
policy was established (i.e. if not explicitly specified by the guest
config file).

Note that I couldn't find the domain ID to be available in
libxl__domain_device_construct_rdm(), but observing that
libxl__device_pci_setdefault() also doesn't use it, for the time being
DOMID_INVALID gets passed. An obvious alternative would be to drop the
unused parameter/argument, yet at that time the question would be
whether to also drop other unused ones.

Paul Durrant 37a5b5f673 libxl: fix build with older glibc
Commit 2b02882ebb "libxl: add infrastructure to track and query
'recent' domids" added a call to clock_gettime() into libxl. The man-
page for this states:

"Link with -lrt (only for glibc versions before 2.17)."

Unfortunately Centos 6 does have an glibc prior to that version, and the
libxl Makefile was not updated to add '-lrt' so the build will fail in
that environment.

This patch simply adds '-lrt' to LIBXL_LIBS unconditionally, as it does
no harm in newer environments.
