Vitaly Kuznetsov 5faf7c1455 libxc: fix mmap leak in xc_unmap_domain_meminfo/xc_map_domain_meminfo
xc_unmap_domain_meminfo uses P2M_FLL_ENTRIES macro instead of P2M_FL_ENTRIES.
Moreover, P2M_FL_ENTRIES macro uses (dinfo->p2m_size) which is always 0 here
as we don't initialize it. The result is that we always unmap just 1 frame.

xc_map_domain_meminfo uses P2M_FLL_ENTRIES macro instead of P2M_FL_ENTRIES
on failure path.

The issue went unnoticed mostly because we use unmap_domain_meminfo and
xc_map_domain_meminfo in one-shot xen-mfndump and xen-hptool (through
xc_exchange_page()) tools. When used is long-running apps (e.g. in xl)
domains become zombies after their death.

Andrew Cooper c85c5adb78 tools/libxc: Avoid cacheflush toolstack hypercalls on x86
XEN_DOMCTL_cacheflush hypercalls are (and will always be) -ENOSYS on x86, but
xc_domain_cacheflush() is called often during domain build and migrate for
correct behaviour on ARM.

Stub xc_domain_cacheflush() out on x86 to remove its pressure on the global
domctl lock, and the hypercall overhead (which applies further pressure to the
already heavily-contended TLB flush lock).

Paul Durrant 84bfbd5d75 x86/viridian: Re-purpose the HVM parameter to be a feature mask
The following commits introduced the time reference counter MSR and
TSC/APIC frequency MSRs into the viridian feature set respectively:

e36cd2cdc9
84657efd91

The time reference counter MSR feature was then reverted by commit

1cd4fab14c

because a flaw in the implementation meant the counter was reset on
migration.

All of these changes were made without any addtional options being
added to the VM configuration, or any compatibility checks being made
in the domain save/restore code. Hence setting the single boolean
'viridian' option in the VM configuration yields a different set of
features depending on which version of Xen the VM is started on, and the
feature set can change across migration (so new MSRs can magically appear).

This patch grandfathers in the current viridian features set and calls them
the 'base' and 'freq' feature sets. HVM_PARAM_VIRIDIAN is re-purposed as
a feature mask. The hypervisor has only ever allowed it ot be set to 0
or 1, so the presence of the base and freq sets are indicated by setting
bit 0. The freq set can then be turned off by setting bit 1, thus
restoring the pre-Xen-4.4 base set. Newly implemented viridian features
can be optionally enabled in future by setting further bits.

The viridian option in xl.cfg(5) has also been changed to a list so
that the sets can be individually enabled or disabled. For compatibility,
if the option is specified as a boolean, then a true (1) value will enable
the base and freq sets and a false (0) value will not enable any
enlightenments.

This patch also alters the allowed write accesses to HVM_PARAM_VIRIDIAN.
Currently there is nothing to stop the guest writing this value (which,
while harmless to anything else, should not happen) and nothing to
stop a toolstack from setting the value back to zero whilst the guest is
running, causing CPUID leaves to disappear and MSR accesses to start
causing GPFs in the guest. Both of these possibilities are now disallowed:
Once the parameter is set to a non-zero value it may not be modified (only
re-written with the same value), and guests no longer have any write
access.

Razvan Cojocaru 9b160a10cf x86, libxc: force-enable relevant MSR events
Vmx_disable_intercept_for_msr() will now refuse to disable interception of

Dario Faggioli d172e6b648 libxc/libxl: bump library SONAMEs
The following two patches break both libxc and libxl ABI and
API, so we better bump the MAJORs.

Of course, for libxl, proper measures are taken (in the
relevant patch) in order to guarantee API stability.

Julien Grall 2db272746c libxc: Fix xc_mem_event.c compilation for ARM
The commit 6ae2df9 "mem_access: Add helper API to setup ring and enable
mem_access¨ break libxc compilation for ARM.

This is because xc_map_foreign_map and xc_domain_decrease_reservation_exact
is taking an xen_pfn_t in parameters. On ARM, xen_pfn_t is always an uin64_t.

Aravindh Puthiyaparambil 6ae2df93c2 mem_access: Add helper API to setup ring and enable mem_access
tools/libxc: Add helper function to setup ring for mem events
This patch adds a helper function that maps the ring, enables mem_event
and removes the ring from the guest physmap while the domain is paused.
This can be used by all mem_events but is only enabled for mem_access at
the moment.

tests/xen-access: Use helper API to setup ring and enable mem_access
Prior to this patch, xen-access was setting up the ring page in a way
that would give a malicous guest a window to write in to the shared ring
page. This patch fixes this by using the helper API that does it safely
on behalf of xen-access.

This is XSA-99.

Roger Pau Monne fbcc8b2926 libxc: remove broken endianess gate on lz4 decompressor
The lz4 decompressor had wrongly implemented a gate between
little-endian and big-endian versions of get_unaligned_le{16/32},
which turns out to be broken on all architectures supported by Xen,
because __LITTLE_ENDIAN is not defined. Instead of trying to fix
this, just implement the little-endian version and remove the switch.

Also refactor the contents of xc_pfn_to_mfn(). It is functionally identical,
but contains less lisp, fewer magic numbers, and more description of why 32bit
guests are treated differently.

Note that this does not affect pfn_to_mfn() in xc_domain_save.c That was
already a macro which aliased pfn_to_mfn() in xg_private.h but without
actually using it.

Dario Faggioli 6e4ecc6d58 sched: DOMCTL_*vcpuaffinity works with hard and soft affinity
by adding a flag for the caller to specify which one he cares about.

At the same time, enable the caller to get back the "effective affinity"
of the vCPU. That is the intersection between cpupool's cpus, the (new)
hard affinity and, for soft affinity, the (new) soft affinity. In fact,
despite what has been successfully set with the DOMCTL_setvcpuaffinity
hypercall, the Xen scheduler will never run a vCPU outside of its hard
affinity or of its domain's cpupool.

This happens by adding another cpumap to the interface and making both
the cpumaps IN/OUT parameters (for DOMCTL_setvcpuaffinity, they're of
course out-only for DOMCTL_getvcpuaffinity).

Andrew Cooper 171c6d7ac1 tools/libxc: Add Valgrind client requests
Valgrind client requests can be used by code to provide extra debugging
information about memory ranges, or to request checks at specific points.

Reference:
  http://valgrind.org/docs/manual/mc-manual.html#mc-manual.clientreqs

Client requests are safe to compile into code for running outside of
valgrind. Therefore, enable client requests whenever autoconf can find
memcheck.h and debug builds are enabled.
