Oleksandr Andrushchenko d3d36bb494 xen/arm: add support for R-Car Gen4 PCI host controller
Add support for Renesas R-Car Gen4 PCI host controller, specifically
targeting the S4 and V4H SoCs. The implementation includes configuration
read/write operations for both root and child buses. For accessing the
child bus, iATU is used for address translation.

The host controller needs to be initialized by Dom0 first to be properly
handled by Xen. Xen itself only handles the runtime configuration of
the iATU for accessing different child devices.

iATU programming is done similarly to Linux, where only window 0 is used
for dynamic configuration, and it is reconfigured for every config space
read/write.

Code common to all DesignWare PCI host controllers is located in a
separate file to allow for easy reuse in other DesignWare-based PCI
host controllers.

Oleksandr Andrushchenko fe4ca5630b xen/arm: add support for PCI child bus
PCI host bridges often have different ways to access the root and child
bus configuration spaces. One of the examples is Designware's host bridge
and its multiple clones [1].

Linux kernel implements this by instantiating a child bus when device
drivers provide not only the usual pci_ops to access ECAM space (this is
the case for the generic host bridge), but also means to access the child
bus which has a dedicated configuration space and own implementation for
accessing the bus, e.g. child_ops.

For Xen it is not feasible to fully implement PCI bus infrastructure as
Linux kernel does, but still child bus can be supported.

Add support for the PCI child bus which includes the following changes:
- introduce bus mapping functions depending on SBDF
- assign bus start and end for the child bus and re-configure the same for
  the parent (root) bus
- make pci_find_host_bridge be aware of multiple busses behind the same bridge
- update pci_host_bridge_mappings, so it also doesn't map to guest the memory
spaces belonging to the child bus
- make pci_host_common_probe accept one more pci_ops structure for the child bus
- install MMIO handlers for the child bus for hardware domain
- re-work vpci_mmio_{write|read} with parent and child approach in mind

Oleksandr Andrushchenko ad3ac58a9d vpci: translate virtual PCI bus topology for guests
There are two originators for the PCI configuration space access:
1. The domain that owns physical host bridge: MMIO handlers are
there so we can update vPCI register handlers with the values
written by the hardware domain, e.g. physical view of the registers
vs guest's view on the configuration space.
2. Guest access to the passed through PCI devices: we need to properly
map virtual bus topology to the physical one, e.g. pass the configuration
space access to the corresponding physical devices.

Oleksandr Andrushchenko 751ec850ec ARM: ITS: implement quirks and add support for Renesas Gen4 ITS
There are number of ITS implementations exist which are different from
the base one which have number of functionalities defined as is
"IMPLEMENTATION DEFINED", e.g. there may exist differences in cacheability,
shareability and memory requirements and others. This requires
appropriate handling of such HW requirements which are implemented as
ITS quirks: GITS_IIDR (ITS Implementer Identification Register) is used to
differentiate the ITS implementations and select appropriate set of
quirks if any.

As an example of such ITSes add quirk implementation for Renesas Gen4 ITS:
- add possibility to override default cacheability and shareability
settings used for ITS memory allocations;
- change relevant memory allocations to alloc_xenheap_pages which allows
to specify memory access flags, free_xenheap_pages is used to free;
- add quirks validation to ensure that all ITSes share the same quirks
in case of multiple ITSes are present in the system;

The Gen4 ITS memory requirements are not covered in any errata as of yet,
but observed behavior suggests that they are indeed required.

The idea of the quirk implementation is inspired by the Linux kernel ITS
quirk implementation [1].

Changelog:
v2 -> v3:
- added missing memset;
v1 -> v2:
- switched to using alloc_xenheap_pages/free_xenheap_pages for ITS memory
allocations;
- updated declaration of its_quirk_flags;
- added quirks validation to ensure that all ITSes share the same quirks;
- removed unnecessary vITS changes;

Oleksandr Andrushchenko 9c831e429c vpci/header: emulate PCI_COMMAND register for guests
Xen and/or Dom0 may have put values in PCI_COMMAND which they expect
to remain unaltered. PCI_COMMAND_SERR bit is a good example: while the
guest's (domU) view of this will want to be zero (for now), the host
having set it to 1 should be preserved, or else we'd effectively be
giving the domU control of the bit. Thus, PCI_COMMAND register needs
proper emulation in order to honor host's settings.

According to "PCI LOCAL BUS SPECIFICATION, REV. 3.0", section "6.2.2
Device Control" the reset state of the command register is typically 0,
so when assigning a PCI device use 0 as the initial state for the
guest's (domU) view of the command register.

Here is the full list of command register bits with notes about
PCI/PCIe specification, and how Xen handles the bit. QEMU's behavior is
also documented here since that is our current reference implementation
for PCI passthrough.

PCI_COMMAND_IO (bit 0)
  PCIe 6.1: RW
  PCI LB 3.0: RW
QEMU: (emu_mask) QEMU provides an emulated view of this bit. Guest
writes do not propagate to hardware. QEMU sets this bit to 1 in
hardware if an I/O BAR is exposed to the guest.
Xen domU: (rsvdp_mask) We treat this bit as RsvdP for now since we
don't yet support I/O BARs for domUs.
Xen dom0: We allow dom0 to control this bit freely.

PCI_COMMAND_MEMORY (bit 1)
  PCIe 6.1: RW
  PCI LB 3.0: RW
QEMU: (emu_mask) QEMU provides an emulated view of this bit. Guest
writes do not propagate to hardware. QEMU sets this bit to 1 in
hardware if a Memory BAR is exposed to the guest.
Xen domU/dom0: We handle writes to this bit by mapping/unmapping BAR
    regions.
Xen domU: For devices assigned to DomUs, memory decoding will be
disabled at the time of initialization.

QEMU: Pass through writes to hardware.
Xen domU/dom0: Pass through writes to hardware.

PCI_COMMAND_SPECIAL (bit 3)
PCIe 6.1: RO, hardwire to 0
  PCI LB 3.0: RW
QEMU: Pass through writes to hardware.
Xen domU/dom0: Pass through writes to hardware.

PCI_COMMAND_INVALIDATE (bit 4)

writes do not propagate to hardware.
Xen domU: (rsvdp_mask) We treat this bit as RsvdP.
Xen dom0: We allow dom0 to control this bit freely.

PCI_COMMAND_WAIT (bit 7)
PCIe 6.1: RO, hardwire to 0
PCI LB 3.0: hardwire to 0
  QEMU: res_mask
Xen domU: (rsvdp_mask) We treat this bit as RsvdP.
Xen dom0: We allow dom0 to control this bit freely.

PCI_COMMAND_SERR (bit 8)
  PCIe 6.1: RW
  PCI LB 3.0: RW
QEMU: (emu_mask) QEMU provides an emulated view of this bit. Guest
writes do not propagate to hardware.
Xen domU: (rsvdp_mask) We treat this bit as RsvdP.
Xen dom0: We allow dom0 to control this bit freely.

PCI_COMMAND_FAST_BACK (bit 9)
PCIe 6.1: RO, hardwire to 0
  PCI LB 3.0: RW
QEMU: (emu_mask) QEMU provides an emulated view of this bit. Guest
writes do not propagate to hardware.
Xen domU: (rsvdp_mask) We treat this bit as RsvdP.
Xen dom0: We allow dom0 to control this bit freely.

PCI_COMMAND_INTX_DISABLE (bit 10)
  PCIe 6.1: RW
  PCI LB 3.0: RW
QEMU: (emu_mask) QEMU provides an emulated view of this bit. Guest
writes do not propagate to hardware. QEMU checks if INTx was mapped
for a device. If it is not, then guest can't control
    PCI_COMMAND_INTX_DISABLE bit.
Xen domU: We prohibit a guest from enabling INTx if MSI(X) is enabled.
Xen dom0: We allow dom0 to control this bit freely.

Bits 11-15
  PCIe 6.1: RsvdP
  PCI LB 3.0: Reserved

  Xen domU: rsvdp_mask
Xen dom0: We allow dom0 to control these bits freely.

Instead of handling a single range set, that contains all the memory

As the range sets are now created when a PCI device is added and destroyed

Note that rangesets were chosen here despite there being only up to

was chosen for the ease of implementation and existing code re-usability.

Also note that error handling of vpci_process_pending() is slightly
modified, and that vPCI handlers are no longer removed if the creation
of the mappings in vpci_process_pending() fails, as that's unlikely to
lead to a functional device in any case.

This is in preparation of making non-identity mappings in p2m for the MMIOs.

Oleksandr Andrushchenko 4f78438b45 vpci: use per-domain PCI lock to protect vpci structure
Use the per-domain PCI read/write lock to protect the presence of the
pci device vpci field. This lock can be used (and in a few cases is used
right away) so that vpci removal can be performed while holding the lock
in write mode. Previously such removal could race with vpci_read for
example.

When taking both d->pci_lock and pdev->vpci->lock, they should be
taken in this exact order: d->pci_lock then pdev->vpci->lock to avoid
possible deadlock situations.

1. Per-domain's pci_lock is used to protect pdev->vpci structure
from being removed.

2. Writing the command register and ROM BAR register may trigger
modify_bars to run, which in turn may access multiple pdevs while
checking for the existing BAR's overlap. The overlapping check, if
done under the read lock, requires vpci->lock to be acquired on both
devices being compared, which may produce a deadlock. It is not
possible to upgrade read lock to write lock in such a case. So, in
order to prevent the deadlock, use d->pci_lock in write mode instead.

All other code, which doesn't lead to pdev->vpci destruction and does
not access multiple pdevs at the same time, can still use a
combination of the read lock and pdev->vpci->lock.

3. Drop const qualifier where the new rwlock is used and this is
appropriate.

4. Do not call process_pending_softirqs with any locks held. For that
unlock prior the call and re-acquire the locks after. After
re-acquiring the lock there is no need to check if pdev->vpci exists:
 - in apply_map because of the context it is called (no race condition
   possible)
 - for MSI/MSI-X debug code because it is called at the end of
pdev->vpci access and no further access to pdev->vpci is made

5. Use d->pci_lock around for_each_pdev and pci_get_pdev()
while accessing pdevs in vpci code.

6. Switch vPCI functions to use per-domain pci_lock for ensuring pdevs
do not go away. The vPCI functions call several MSI-related functions
which already have existing non-vPCI callers. Change those MSI-related
functions to allow using either pcidevs_lock() or d->pci_lock for
ensuring pdevs do not go away. Holding d->pci_lock in read mode is
sufficient. Note that this pdev protection mechanism does not protect
other state or critical sections. These MSI-related functions already
have other race condition and state protection mechanims (e.g.
d->event_lock and msixtbl RCU), so we deduce that the use of the global
pcidevs_lock() is to ensure that pdevs do not go away.

7. Introduce wrapper construct, pdev_list_is_read_locked(), for checking
that pdevs do not go away. The purpose of this wrapper is to aid
readability and document the intent of the pdev protection mechanism.

8. When possible, the existing non-vPCI callers of these MSI-related
functions haven't been switched to use the newly introduced per-domain
pci_lock, and will continue to use the global pcidevs_lock(). This is
done to reduce the risk of the new locking scheme introducing
regressions. Those users will be adjusted in due time. One exception
is where the pcidevs_lock() in allocate_and_map_msi_pirq() is moved to
the caller, physdev_map_pirq(): this instance is switched to
read_lock(&d->pci_lock) right away.

Oleksandr Andrushchenko dc27c174b2 xen/arm: do not map PCI ECAM and MMIO space to Domain-0's p2m
PCI host bridges are special devices in terms of implementing PCI
passthrough. According to [1] the current implementation depends on
Domain-0 to perform the initialization of the relevant PCI host
bridge hardware and perform PCI device enumeration. In order to
achieve that one of the required changes is to not map all the memory
ranges in map_range_to_domain as we traverse the device tree on startup
and perform some additional checks if the range needs to be mapped to
Domain-0.

The generic PCI host controller device tree binding says [2]:
- ranges: As described in IEEE Std 1275-1994, but must provide
at least a definition of non-prefetchable memory. One
or both of prefetchable Memory and IO Space may also
          be provided.

- reg : The Configuration Space base address and size, as accessed
from the parent bus. The base address corresponds to
the first bus in the "bus-range" property. If no
"bus-range" is specified, this will be bus 0 (the default).

From the above none of the memory ranges from the "ranges" property
needs to be mapped to Domain-0 at startup as MMIO mapping is going to
be handled dynamically by vPCI as we assign PCI devices, e.g. each
device assigned to Domain-0/guest will have its MMIOs mapped/unmapped
as needed by Xen.

The "reg" property covers not only ECAM space, but may also have other
then the configuration memory ranges described, for example [3]:
- reg: Should contain rc_dbi, config registers location and length.
- reg-names: Must include the following entries:
   "rc_dbi": controller configuration registers;
   "config": PCIe configuration space registers.

This patch makes it possible to not map all the ranges from the
"ranges" property and also ECAM from the "reg". All the rest from the
"reg" property still needs to be mapped to Domain-0, so the PCI
host bridge remains functional in Domain-0. This is done by first
skipping the mappings while traversing the device tree as it is done for
usual devices and then by calling a dedicated pci_host_bridge_mappings
function which only maps MMIOs required by the host bridges leaving the
regions, needed for vPCI traps, unmapped.

At the moment, we always allocate an extra 16 slots for IO handlers
(see MAX_IO_HANDLER). So while adding an IO trap handler for the emulated
PCI host bridge we are not breaking anything, but we have a latent bug
as the maximum number of IOs may be exceeded.
Fix this by explicitly telling that we have an additional IO handler, so it is
accounted.

Oleksandr Andrushchenko cd54f8095e xen/arm: setup MMIO range trap handlers for hardware domain
In order for vPCI to work it needs to maintain guest and hardware
domain's views of the configuration space. For example, BARs and
COMMAND registers require emulation for guests and the guest view
of the registers needs to be in sync with the real contents of the
relevant registers. For that ECAM address space needs to also be
trapped for the hardware domain, so we need to implement PCI host
bridge specific callbacks to properly setup MMIO handlers for those
ranges depending on particular host bridge implementation.

Oleksandr Andrushchenko c62d634cce xen/arm: process pending vPCI map/unmap operations
vPCI may map and unmap PCI device memory (BARs) being passed through which
may take a lot of time. For this those operations may be deferred to be
performed later, so that they can be safely preempted.

Currently this deferred processing is happening in common IOREQ code
which doesn't seem to be the right place for x86 and is even more
doubtful because IOREQ may not be enabled for Arm at all.
So, for Arm the pending vPCI work may have no chance to be executed
if the processing is left as is in the common IOREQ code only.
For that reason make vPCI processing happen in arch specific code.

Please be aware that there are a few outstanding TODOs affecting this
code path, see xen/drivers/vpci/header.c:map_range and

Oleksandr Andrushchenko 3231ddf9dc xen/arm: fix SBDF calculation for vPCI MMIO handlers
While in vPCI MMIO trap handlers for the guest PCI host bridge it is not
enough for SBDF translation to simply call VPCI_ECAM_BDF(info->gpa) as
the base address may not be aligned in the way that the translation
always work. If not adjusted with respect to the base address it may not be
able to properly convert SBDF.
Fix this by adjusting the gpa with respect to the host bridge base address
in a way as it is done for x86.

Please note, that this change is not strictly required given the current
value of GUEST_VPCI_ECAM_BASE which has bits 0 to 27 clear, but could cause
issues if such value is changed, or when handlers for dom0 ECAM
regions are added as those will be mapped over existing hardware

Oleksandr Andrushchenko c27a184225 xen/displif: Protocol version 2
1. Add protocol version as an integer

Version string, which is in fact an integer, is hard to handle in the
code that supports different protocol versions. To simplify that
also add the version as an integer.

2. Pass buffer offset with XENDISPL_OP_DBUF_CREATE

There are cases when display data buffer is created with non-zero
offset to the data start. Handle such cases and provide that offset
while creating a display buffer.

3. Add XENDISPL_OP_GET_EDID command

Add an optional request for reading Extended Display Identification
Data (EDID) structure which allows better configuration of the
display connectors over the configuration set in XenStore.
With this change connectors may have multiple resolutions defined
with respect to detailed timing definitions and additional properties
normally provided by displays.

If this request is not supported by the backend then visible area
is defined by the relevant XenStore's "resolution" property.

If backend provides extended display identification data (EDID) with
XENDISPL_OP_GET_EDID request then EDID values must take precedence
over the resolutions defined in XenStore.

Oleksandr Andrushchenko 3c3de0ee7a displif: add ABI for para-virtual display
This is the ABI for the two halves of a para-virtualized
display driver.

This protocol aims to provide a unified protocol which fits more
sophisticated use-cases than a framebuffer device can handle. At the
moment basic functionality is supported with the intention to extend:
  o multiple dynamically allocated/destroyed framebuffers
  o buffers of arbitrary sizes
o better configuration options including multiple display support

Note: existing fbif can be used together with displif running at the
same time, e.g. on Linux one provides framebuffer and another DRM/KMS

Future extensions to the existing protocol may include:
  o allow display/connector cloning
o allow allocating objects other than display buffers
  o add planes/overlays support
  o support scaling
  o support rotation

Note, that this protocol doesn't use ring macros for
bi-directional exchange (PV calls/9pfs) bacause:
o it statically defines the use of a single page
    for the ring buffer
o it uses direct memory access to ring's contents
    w/o memory copying
o re-uses the same idea that kbdif/fbif use
which for this use-case seems to be appropriate

==================================================
Rationale for introducing this protocol instead of
using the existing fbif:
==================================================

1. In/out event sizes
  o fbif - 40 octets
  o displif - 40 octets
This is only the initial version of the displif protocol
which means that there could be requests which will not fit
(WRT introducing some GPU related functionality
later on). In that case we cannot alter fbif sizes as we need to
be backward compatible an will be forced to handle those
apart of fbif.

2. Shared page
Displif doesn't use anything like struct xenfb_page, but
DEFINE_RING_TYPES(xen_displif, struct xendispl_req, struct
xendispl_resp) which is a better and more common way.
Output events use a shared page which only has in_cons and in_prod
and all the rest is used for incoming events. Here struct xenfb_page
could probably be used as is despite the fact that it only has a half
of a page for incoming events which is only 50 events. (consider
something like 60Hz display)

3. Amount of changes.
fbif only provides XENFB_TYPE_UPDATE and XENFB_TYPE_RESIZE
events, so it looks like it is easier to get fb support into displif
than vice versa. displif at the moment has 6 requests and 1 event,
multiple connector support, etc.

Oleksandr Andrushchenko 045d5d10ee xen/sndif: Add sound-device ABI
Add ABI for the two halves of a para-virtualized
sound driver to communicate with each other.

The ABI allows implementing audio playback and capture as
well as volume control and possibility to mute/unmute
audio sources.

Note: depending on the use-case backend can expose more sound
cards and PCM devices/streams than the underlying HW physically
has by employing SW mixers, configuring virtual sound streams,
channels etc. Thus, allowing fine tunned configurations per
frontend.
