Commit 9dc46386d8 ("gnttab: work around "may be used uninitialized"

XENMEM_resource_grant_table_id_status was specified for a grant table
v1. This would result in crashes in debug builds due to
ASSERT_UNREACHABLE() triggering.
Check vaddrs only to be NULL in the rc == 0 case.
Expand the tests in tools/tests/resource to tickle this path, and verify that

When some FMA set of insns is included in the base instruction set (XOP,
AVX512F, and AVX512-FP16 at present), simd_test() simply invokes
fma_test(), negating its return value. In case of a failure this would
yield a value close to 4G, which doesn't lend itself to easy
identification of the failing test case. Recognize the case in
simd_check_regs() and emit alternative output identifying FMA.

For one it was an oversight to leave dup_{hi,lo}() undefined for 512-bit
vector size. And then in FMA testing we can also arrange for the
compiler to (hopefully) recognize broadcasting potential. Plus we can
replace the broadcast(1) use in the addsub() surrogate with inline
assembly explicitly using embedded broadcast (even gcc12 still doesn't
support broadcast for any of the addsub/subadd builtins).

CET Indirect Branch Tracking is a hardware feature designed to provide
forward-edge control flow integrity, protecting against jump/call oriented
programming.
IBT requires the placement of endbr{32,64} instructions at the target of every
indirect call/jmp, and every entrypoint.
However, the default -fcf-protection=branch places an endbr{32,64} on every
function which far more than necessary, and reduces the quantity of protection
afforded. Therefore, we use manual placement using the cf_check attribute.
It is necessary to check for both compiler and assembler support, as the
notrack prefix can be emitted in certain cases.

OSSTest has identified a 3rd regression caused by this change. Migration
between Xen 4.15 and 4.16 on the nocera pair of machines (AMD Opteron 4133)
fails with:
xc: error: Failed to set CPUID policy: leaf 00000000, subleaf ffffffff, msr ffffffff (22 = Invalid argument): Internal error
xc: error: Restore failed (22 = Invalid argument): Internal error
which is a safety check to prevent resuming the guest when the CPUID data has
been truncated. The problem is caused by shrinking of the max policies, which
is an ABI that needs handling compatibly between different versions of Xen.
Furthermore, shrinking of the default policies also breaks things in some
cases, because certain cpuid= settings in a VM config file which used to work
will now be refused. Also external toolstacks that attempt to set the CPUID
policy from a featureset might now see some filled leaves not reachable due to
the shrinking done to the default domain policy before applying the
featureset.
This reverts commit 540d911c28, as well as the
partial fix attempt in 81da2b544c (which added
one new case where cpuid= settings might not apply correctly) and restores the
same behaviour as Xen 4.15.

Gcc 11 looks to make incorrect assumptions about valid ranges that
pointers may be used for addressing when they are derived from e.g. a
plain constant. See https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=100680.
Utilize RELOC_HIDE() to work around the issue, which for x86 manifests
in at least
- mpparse.c:efi_check_config(),
- tboot.c:tboot_probe(),
- tboot.c:tboot_gen_frametable_integrity(),
- x86_emulate.c:x86_emulate() (at -O2 only).
The last case is particularly odd not just because it only triggers at

least three similar constructs. Various "note" diagnostics claim the

present .note.gnu.property section has appeared. This section, when
converting to binary format output, gets placed according to its
linked address, causing the resulting blobs to be about 128Mb in size.
The resulting headers with a C representation of the binary blobs then
are, of course all a multiple of that size (and take accordingly long
